OxoxO Aftermarket Carburetor Carb Compatible with Stihl FS38 FS45 FS46 FS55 Fs74 FS75 FS76 FS80 FS85 Trimmers

Sad to say this carb will not fit all Stihl FS 55 strimmers. They fitted different carbs to the same models, it is a complicated issue and some have been discontinued by manufacturer. The one on mine is marked C1Q by Zama and is engraved S53A and has been discontinued. The one supplied here will bolt onto the carb but has H & L jets and the air filter will not go over the black adjustment jet screw covers; you can remove the covers and it will then fit in if you shorten the fuel inlet pipe by 3 mm. The engine will start but I cannot get it to run properly (yet) and wonder if the internal machining of port is different. The S53 A carb is a crude device with no H & L jets and I had hoped that this replacement would do the same job - but better. Apparently not, and experts might be able to explain why (please)! At the price it was worth the risk and I will keep trying to adjust the two jets - which, of course, the S53 A did not have. I have been offered a direct substitute by a Stihl dealer for the cost of £50.00 (ouch!) so for the time being will struggle the old S53 A. If your machine has the three black screws shown in the picture you should be OK, but if yours has the S53 A Zama you might have the same problems as me.

I enquired about this item (very similar to another advertised but without the 3rd hole - filter) to ascertain the difference but without any success. The item listed/ordered was the same version as the one it was to replace, however, when it arrived it was the alternative - without the filter hole. Decided to try instead of returning and am pleased to say that it has worked. Hopefully, supplier will check the stock description.

This carb is identical in every visible way to the carb on my 2012 Stihl FS-55 weed wacker and worked just fine. Given that a Stilh original costs about £55 this Beehive was a no-brainer.

My old carburetor was beyond rebuilding. This fitted beautifully. The machine runs well now. Good fast service too.

fitted to 20 year old Stihl strimmer. A few small adjustments to mixture and it's been perfect. Beats servicing the old carb. Strimmer starts better than when new!
