🔧 Stick with the Best! Instant bonding for every project.
Hot Stuff Special T Thick Instant CA Glue is a high-performance adhesive that bonds in 20-60 seconds. With its thick viscosity, it can effectively bond a variety of materials, including wood, metal, rubber, and many plastics, while also filling gaps up to 1/8".

This "Super Thick" stays where you put it, gives time for fitting small pieces tightly, and cures to a *strong* hold
- This review is mostly for the Green Label "Extra Thick". - I also have purchased and used the Orange Label ("gap filling", which I think is Medium Viscosity), and the Red Label (Thin). - All of the CA glues have excellent holding strength with hardwoods. I honestly have only tried them with a very few other materials, because I'm focused on my woodworking projects at this time. - My *personal* preference is for this "Extra Thick" one because it stays where I put it. My hands are not completely steady any more, and I ended up getting most of the Thin on my fingers rather than on the small wood pieces I need to glue; I'm a little bit better with the "gap filling"/medium-thick (orange label), but THIS one, the green-label Super Thick, stays put, so I get much less on myself. - Note that the thicker the viscosity, the more slowly it sets. At 68 degrees F, and 62% humidity earlier today, it took about 2 minutes to set. Now, *for me*, that is great, because I'm trying to fit hardwood pieces together accurately, and the slower setting thick glue allows me to wiggle things a little to get the tightest fit I can. In comparison with "regular" wood glue and general glue, it is *still* very fast to me, though. - This "super thick" also seems to me to have much less of a "smell" than the less-viscous forms, so that's another reason I prefer this one. - The Thin is good as a rapid coating or seal for small areas of wood at a time. For INLAY, the company recommends using the Thin to first "seal" the wood underneath the area to be inlaid, then applying the inlay, and "wicking in" more of the Thin by applying it carefully to the edges and letting the material pull it in by capillary action. I have not personally tried that. I HAVE tried using sawdust to fill-in a few gaps, and that is difficult because the Thin, and even the Medium, set almost instantly due to the nature of sawdust, and all I got was a blob. I have not yet tried using any crushed or any sheet material; all I'm describing so far is what I've read. -- NOTE that, although the thicker glues can fill gaps, I've noticed that bleaching the wood, as well as applying an ethanol:shellac sealer, both seem to darken the glue - I *think* that both processes partially dissolve or soften it, and then dust or something gets is making a dark line unless the pieces are VERY closely fitted. So it's not really a solution for a lapse in technique ;) - The hold strength on all the viscosities is excellent.

The BEST product line of instant glues I've ever used!
I've used all of the Hot Stuff cyano-acrylate ("CA") glues for several years and, IMHO, it is THE BEST "instant" all-purpose surface-to-surface adhesive on the market. I was introduced to the Hot Stuff line of CA glues back in 1991 when I was working for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science as a consultant with the Paleontology Department. We used all three grades of Hot Stuff for piecing together vertebrate fossils (e.g., dinosaurs, fish, and mammals) that came out of the ground as hundreds of shattered bits of lithified bone, teeth, and scales. I'm talking about gluing one piece of rock to another, which is no mean feat for a commercial adhesive. You can glue just about ANYTHING to ANYTHING ELSE with this stuff. The gap-filling ability of the thick grade of Hot Stuff is unsurpassed. The thinnest grade of Hot Stuff is great for larger surface areas: one drop will cover more than one square inch of a flat surface. The medium grade is useful for most routine shop work and household repairs. Bonds, gaps, cracks, and any other type of repair made will generally outlast the object itself. I STRONGLY recommend buying (and keeping it near to hand) a bottle of approved solvent for clean-ups and freeing accidentally glued-together body parts. Acetone works, too, but it's rough on skin and it's extremely flammable. For best results and to achieve an instant, rock-solid, fully-cured bond, use a spray-on accelerator (dispensed from an aerosol can is best) with all the thickness grades of Hot Stuff CA glues. Amazon sells it. Be warned: Amazon and many of its third-party vendors will NOT ship the liquid-in-a-bottle form of accelerator to Hawaii and some other states!

It's ok, I guess.
Somewhere someone suggested this glue for making inlay rings. This is the first one I have ever made. Supposedly the bonding was supposed to be quick but it took several hours to dry, which wasn't that wasn't a big deal. It worked ok, I guess but I ordered a different kind of CA glue to see if I get better results.

superglue on steroids
I love this glue. I always have several bottles on hand. I use it for small trim details where a nail or brad won't work (shoe or apron returns) and I've found that it works extremely well with PVC trim boards like versatex and azek. It has also saved my hide on several occasions, gluing a split or splinter back in place on a piece of ancient trim we're supposed to re-use.Make sure you purchase the accelerator as well. It should be noted that there are many choices when it comes to these acrylic speed glues, but this one has been around longer than most, and it's my go-to choice. I could buy another brand at the store down the street, but I'd rather get the Hot Stuff by mail. For whatever reasons, I've had the best results with this brand over the others out there.Highly recommended.!

Strong but gets clogged and becomes difficult to use
I bought this because I couldn't find anything locally that would bond vinyl to ABS plastic (building a Stormtrooper). It DEFINITELY bonds vinyl to ABS plastic AND skin to skin! The bottle contained more than enough for what I needed I've still got plenty left over. Maybe that's what my issue was... Even though the lid seals it up tight and has a little pin to keep the tip from getting clogged every time I went back to use it I would have to clip off the super glue clogged tip in order to use it. I also had an issue with the cap splitting 1/8 up at the bottom. I pressed the cap on too tight and it split.Pros:2oz is probably more than you think it is. Doesn't take very much to have a good, solid bondWorked well for every application I needed (specifically vinyl to ABS plastic)Sets fast (don't make a mistake!)Cons:Bottle tip clogs if you don't use it all, fastBottle cap split at the bottomI might recommend this to a friend but wouldn't recommend it for more than $10 shipped.
