This is a GREAT prybar tool at a decent price.
This is a nice general purpose pry bar that I keep handy for all sorts of things. The handle and blade tip are MUCH stronger than you might expect (not flexible at all). I've leaned into the tip with the weight of my body and the pry bar stays rock solid. The tip is surprisingly thin for how strong it is.I happen to have the original pry bar sold by Metal Magery (Pictured on the left) that I purchased last year and I love it, so when I saw this product pop up for Amazon Vine Review I knew having a second one would be handy. This 4140 Pry Tool Car Trim Removal Tool Kit seems to be a solid and well made imitation of the original. The curve on the tip is different (less of an angle here) but this may or may not matter to you. Perhaps a professional in auto trim work would appreciate the curve of the original design. It doesn't matter much for what I've used it for. Just different.Overall this 4140 Pry Bar tool is really handy. I am not a professional auto repair person nor do I do vehicle trim or detailing but I've reached for these pry bars a number of times around the house, garage, basement plumbing, family vehicles, bikes, etc.At the time of writing the Metal Magery Sheet Metal Skin Wedge Pry Bar Tool is $19.99 while this 4140 Pry Bar Tool is $12.99. Heck of a deal for a tool I use more than I expected.

Great quality!
To start, the craftsmanship of this product is truly exceptional. The metal pry bar exudes a sense of robustness and durability, a crucial feature when dealing with stubborn trim pieces. Plastic tools simply can't measure up to its performance. It effortlessly simplifies the task at hand.I had my doubts before purchasing this product, expecting it to be made of flimsy metal. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's constructed from remarkably sturdy metal. It appears to be quite durable and should withstand the test of time. I decided to invest in this tool because I was frustrated with the inefficiency of plastic pry tools, which often ended up bending rather than accomplishing the tasks I needed them for. I wholeheartedly recommend this metal pry tool to anyone in a similar predicament. It has proven to be a reliable and robust solution to my needs. What stands out most about this kit is its adaptability. The tool's angled design is perfectly suited for tackling those challenging, hard-to-reach areas, such as pillar trim and headliners. However, its utility doesn't end there; I've discovered its value extends to various other tasks beyond its original purpose. It has, in fact, become my go-to tool in the garage.Whether you're passionate about DIY car projects or simply enjoy occasional tinkering, this pry tool kit is an absolute essential. It's expertly crafted, functions flawlessly, and its versatility goes beyond your initial expectations. Believe me, adding this tool to your toolbox is a decision you won't regret.

Many uses, not just for interiors
Very nice tool for the price. Feels cheaper than the name brand one I have at work. At this price point that’s to be expected. These work great on stubborn trim/panels. But i tested it on more than just interiors. It worked amazingly well on prying off some hard stuck plastic valve covers. I also used to to pry out the gaskets. Even got the tube seals out with it. I gotta say, I’m impressed.I wouldn’t use it on anything metal though. I damaged the end trying to persuade a dipstick tube out of its home lol. And then when I filed the end down to repair the damage, the chrome plating started flaking pretty bad. Nothing worse than a chrome splinter! Anyone who’s been in the auto business for a while will probably agree. If you use this tool as intended i doubt you’ll ever have this problem though

A simple prying tool to do away with butterknives and screwdrivers.
As the first photograph of the tool shows, it has a textured finish all over the handle. (NOTE: The reddish color is not rust. It's just the lighting. The handle is perfectly bright and shiny.) This is good, as it increases the friction to assure a firm grasp. This is one time you don't want a fully polished finish, which is slippery. The second photo shows that the blade is slightly pitted (the bright spots near the tip) and not smoothly rounded. Part of the rounded edge is a little rough, as you can see by the grinding marks that weren't polished out. I'm not certain that this would cause any cosmetic damage to trim surfaces, but I'm going to use a fine stone to smooth out the edge anyway. The tool is strong. I easily lifted fifty pounds of weightlifting plates. I'd wager that this tool could handle twice that amount, more than necessary for automotive work. However, I ordered this because I wanted a small, comfortable to use, highly maneuverable, pry bar capable of getting into narrow spaces. That's exactly what it does. It has earned a place at my workbench and in my travel tool bag.

Not just for removing automotive trim
If you ever work on mechanical and electrical components in automobiles which are hidden behind dashboards or inside door panels then you know how hard it can be to pry the access points open.Well, here’s the tool that can do it with ease. It’s made of high quality tool steel, not cheap plastic , so it’s got all the strength you’ll ever need to get inside whatever panel you’re trying to access. The tool is nicely finished, with no rough edges and it actually feels good in your hands. It’s also a great tool for prying the lids off cans of paint.I’ve even used mine to help me splice 3 strand nylon line into dock lines. It certainly seems like it could be a lifetime tool.Buy it once and with a little care, it will likely outlast you.Great addition to your tool box.

No comparison to a true 4140
Much flatter and thicker than a real 4140
