Listen to a Father
When I received this book I dove right in (disregarding the foreword), I was immediately drawn into a conversation with a Father in ministry. I was able to hear compassion and hope for the circumstances I was in. It's pretty easy to see why people call it a proverbs type book. I've heard it said that some of the most profound things we learn in life are often "caught not taught". This book is about catching the Father's Heart for us, the Church, His sons and daughters. Also, listen to the Foreword by Jerry Cook and slow down when you read it :)

A Life of Experiences Stuffed Into One Small Book
Garris Elkins has had one of the most fascinating lives of anyone I know. In less than 150 pages you get story after story from a life time of ministry. I like to play 'reading-roulette' with it...I fan the pages, close my eyes and stab my finger into the book reading whatever story fate has for me. I've never been disappointed. The Leadership Rock is not only an interesting and entertaining read, each story has a purpose, a lesson for life and ministry.
