An excellent and informative photographer's location guide to D&C
An excellent landscape photographer's location guide to Devon and Cornwall that includes all the locations you would expect (Tarr Steps, Beer, Start Point, etc) plus, more importantly, dozens of others that you are likely either unaware of or nor sure what to find there. Whether you are after landscapes, seascapes (more than likely given the geography of these counties) or just looking for ideas, this book will provide more than enough ideas of likely locations.I notice that a couple of comments mention the size of the pictures or their quality. I don't think either criticism is justified. The illustrations are fine (many are full page and double page spreads) and are a good guide to what can be found at the locations. The book is a location guide not a photography tutorial.

Not the best value fotovue book
Some good information but given the locations and in comparison with other fotovue books this one seems on the thin side to me. I expected more locations.

A photography book the is so much more
For photographers this whole series of 'Photographing' books are so useful, packed with information, some great photography and advice. But much more than that it takes you through the region, is filled with information and is a first class travel guide. I shall buy them all as they are published.

As a professional landscape photographer and travel writer I was curious to see what this book would be like. Personally I don't
Having already bought and used the Lake District book in this series I have now got the Devon and Cornwall one. As a professional landscape photographer and travel writer I was curious to see what this book would be like. Personally I don't mins a few long exposures of the sea and rivers, but this book has little else. They justget tedious and look the same. There is far more to the sea than this! I know, I live on an island. A few storms would have been good. The text is great just like the Lake District but in the end this is more a picture book with a little text which is a bit disappointing ultimately. The print quality and photography is excellent but there are too many double page spreads and too few pages of text. The shot metadata may be of interest to some but frankly the camera type and lens used is not of interest. If you want a very nice picture gook of Cornwall and Devon then buy this book. If you want (like me) more hard information then maybe not. Another point is that there surely must be very few people around in Devon and Cornwall because the photos are mostly devoid of people, cars, bikes, dogs, even animals. This makes many of the images rather dead. So it is a bit of a dilemma because in some ways it is 5* and in others 1*. Doubtless others will disagree.

Very informative.
For keen photographers, this book is very informative. Lots of information about places and view points, times of year/day to visit for best shots. It has enabled me to photograph stunning places that I didn't know existed. Have purchased the books on other areas too, highly recommend.
