AAfter the Burial is back with the follow up full length LP to their Sumerian Records debut, RAREFORM. The band has spent the last two years on the road supporting bands such as Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Emmure, Suicide Silence and Bleeding Through assembling their army for the release of their new album IN DREAMS, co-produced by Jocke Skog and Will Putney. IN DREAMS features an exclusive guitar solo from legendary shredder Rusty Cooley and takes the band's eight string guitar trademark sound to another level with catchier vocal delivery and more bounce than what you are prepared for.

How do you say questionable downgrade in loud indecipherable grunts?
Different character from Rareform. Lighter, but more complex, bass driven sequences. Heavier Melody Guitar. The guitarist plays over some heavy material. Which is an evolution forward by anyone's standards. Except that this is a sparse occurence. I feel that the solos didn't need to be short note patterns interspersed throughout songs. You will not hear many extended guitar solos. Bassist compliments and creates great base level for rest of instruments. Not entirely to my taste. But what can you say; they can really play their instrumants. Both hard and heavy at once. Excellent poster and a small bumper sticker.

Excellent
While, in my opinion, not their most complex guitar work(Rareform has that trophy), the innovation and creativity that is put into this disk is mind blowing. Anthony, the new vocalist, puts a new spin on the lyric writing as this is his first time writing an album with the band. If you're into this band, buy it. If you've never heard of this band, buy it. If you didn't like the vocals on the first two albums, buy it because they have a new vocalist.

Solid album
I discovered this band by link jumping on Amazon... Rareform is amazing, Forging A Future Self is great as well (though the sound quality is lacking). In Dreams is a great album as well and I highly recommend it. It does seem to chill out a little bit on the really technical guitar work compared to Rareform, but it still has its moments. It's brutal and melodic and the sound quality is great.

An Alright Album
This album was alright. I'd recommend you check it out at least once. I know it won't be some people's cup of tea, but the more you listen to it, the better it is.
