Douwe Egberts Real Coffee Cafetiere 1KG

This is a decent coffee, but for my taste I need two heaped scoops to make a decent coffee.

Lovely coffee but a bit expensive.

I was recently in the teashop at Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) and had a cup of filter coffee there. I must say it was the most delicious coffee I had tasted in many many years, if not ever. I marched up to the counter and asked the young man what the coffee was which he had served me. I think he thought I was about to complain but I explained that it was so delicious that I wanted to know exactly what it was. He removed the packet from the large catering coffee filter machine. It was a red box and said Douwe Egberts medium.I returned home and decided to try and source the same coffee and was amazed at how many different medium coffees Douwe Egberts do make both for filters and cafetieres. I went with this one, as I have a cafetiere and not a filter, and was sadly disappointed as it tasted nothing like the coffee which I had at Highclere. Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to give up as trying every pack of Douwe Egberts medium coffee could be quite costly. It's a pity they don't have small testers.

wouldn't buy anything else

DE coffee not readily available in supermarkets and is of much superior flavour to their offerings. Buy a couple of these bags a month. Great stuff
