I liked it so much I bought a second one!
My son wanted a video capture device so he could stream from his PS5 to Twitch via his laptop and OBS Studio. VERY IMPORTANT! - If you want to do this, make sure you disable HDCP. Thanks to other reviewers here on Amazon for providing this info!I was so impressed with how well this worked for my son that I bought a second one for myself so that I can capture video from my video camera in OBS Studio. My video camera is over 10 years old but fortunately it provides the necessary output to make this happen. Video capture is great.I highly recommend this device!

Good entry device to gaming
I recorded my gameplay from at 30-45fps at 1080p. Quality is decent and smoothness depends on the game, I was able to get better results at a lower resolution of 1920x1080 on a HP Omen 1660 GT nvidia graphics card. I think you can set it to 2k resolution at 3680x2160 at 120 frames and get good video quality on less intensive games, but my current PC may be inadequate for high resolution.I’ve sat on this capture card for awhile, I was planning to get a new Xbox and ended up going for a high end PC. Software on Pc is capable of doing the recording, but I’m truly interested in being able to project from a game console, TV, or camera through the capture card to record. I haven’t been able to set it up since my devices are not optimized for it. I plan to further test this capture card for creating videos or storing them. The product works but I don’t know if it’s intended for anything more than gaming, I had tweaked settings between an optional software for PC, and the card for the best performance. You would need a better PC for higher quality gameplay, 4/5

Low Latency
I used this to insert a camera video into a PowerPoint presentation on a laptop computer. It worked great with minimum latency and good quality. It does require a computer with a good video card to do this without dropping frames. Just make sure to reboot the computer if it doesn't work right away.

Did what it was supposed to do
Used this with OBS software. Worked as advertised without any problems. Laptop recognized the device first try.

Usable as a capture card if not a little tricky
You do need to set all the parameters whenever you set up capture in a new program. It does not default to its maximum capabilities. However that's not a huge barrier to entry considering it takes little knowhow.

Easy PnP video capture
Works fine with Windows 10, installed automatically and is compatible with OBS, Zoom, Teams, etc. Seen by the system like a webcam/microphone and has good resolution at 1080p. No noticeable issues with lag, audio delay, or inconsistent frame rates.Great way to easily bring in an external video/audio source for meetings, recordings, or live streaming.

Plug and play with USB A and C support
There are a ton of these HDMI capture devices out, and they range from inexpensive to quite expensive. This one works pretty well for me.The description says USB 3.0 but I haven't been able to verify that. It does work over USB 2.0 and does a pretty good job of capturing video without adding a lot of latency.I tried this for my use case of feeding the HDMI output from a mirrorless camera into my PC for video capture. Setup was troublefree, plug and play, and my video feed showed up instantly. The video quality appears very clear and the latency is very low - probably not gamer low, but not at all laggy or distracting if you are seeing yourself on the video.I also experimented with it a bit - since it's got USB-C I thought I'd see how it worked with my Chromebook. It was plug and play there as well. The USB A to C adapter is a nice thing to have. It is also a good feature that it's attached to the connector so you can't lose it. But if you are using the USB-C connector, the adapter is kind of in the way and has to be folded back 180 degrees. It's a minor issue but if you want to use it specifically with USB-C you may just get rid of the adapter.
