Had my doubts at first , but the thing actually works very well . My only real complaint , is that its very flimsy . They should have at least made it out of aluminium , or at the very least , heavier grade plastic . Unfortunately , I think this is going to break on a lot of people . For something meant to be used outdoors , it needs to be more sturdy . Almost gave 3 stars for construction , but it does work , only reason 4 stars .

And by fragile I mean it's really flimsy and definitely can't be kept in your pocket without some kind of hard protective case. It serves it's purpose though and lights cigarettes fast and easy. It is priced a bit too high for what it is and I would rather recommend buying the round solar cigarette lighter that sells for around $6. Those are slightly easier to use and more appropriately priced. I would suggest to the seller that they provide a small hard case with this product and that would totally justify the cost.

This product is a rip off...do not buy it....tried paper towel, cotton balls, card board and a match...nothing but a red spot on my eyes for a while...do not waste you money...total garbage.

Received this as a gift. The device is handheld. The difficulty lies in trying to find the right angle to focus the sun and then hold it steady. I accidentally melted the plastic fuel grips. It needs to be metal to avoid this problem. DOES NOT work in low light. Need clear skies and direct sun.

Very cheap, no way this will hold up in a pocket, good luck holding it still and the paper you gave, barely smoked. Probably has a starter on it. Put a dry crumbly leaf in and that didn't smoke or catch. Poor design and cheap. Let me guess. Made in China for .3 and sold for $15. I'm done buying from Amazon. Cheap crap

The media could not be loaded. This product does not live up to its claim. I tried it multiple time with different material. I only got a smoking start once out of 6 tries. You can tell in my video it was a perfectly sunny day too. I return the item it will not be in my camping gear box. Not reliable at all. It works but not consistently. 1 out of 6 tries is not good.

Didn't think it would work but I tried it out and lit a cigarette using it and the sun's rays. Great as a back-up.

This is a fantastic solar lighter. It is very small and extremely light. I used it to light a Cohiba cigarillo as a test. I did not even need to insert the cigarillo but just hold it slightly above the insertion point. In less than 3 seconds it got burning. The only downside to this solar lighter is that it is made of plastic so I suggest to carry it in a case so it does not get damaged. This is the tradeoff you get for it being lightweight. I think this solar lighter would be really good for camping or using at the beach. You can also use it as a case for a small lighter. Perfect.
