DELTA LA302 COMM. LIGHTNING ARRESTER DELTA LIGHTING ARRESTOR

Saved My Sisters Airstream
My sister had her Airstream trailer saved by this device while others experiencing the same electrical surge at the campground park suffered severe damage to their trailers/motorhomes. Also, as a rebuttal to Big Bill One's 1-star rating, this lightning arrestor is listed (as required by the National Electric Code) by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) (specifically ETL) which has the same qualifications/standards as UL for testing electrical equipment. Big Bill One needs to do his research.

No more fried devices
Delta's surge arrestors and surge capacitors are awesome. They give a great deal of peace of mind during lightning storms and line work - you won't realize how much they're doing for you until years later when you think - 'Hey, none of my stuff has been fried in a long time! I wonder if it's the CA302/LA302?' My guess is that it probably has something to do with it. I've got these things in my house on the grid side, inverter side of a Solar array and the DC side of the solar array. The pro solar installers swear by em, and I've put them in friends and family's houses. Great tech. (I also posted this review on the CA302)The best part of the LA302 is they don't degrade to a short circuit state like the MOV technology does. Read about their Silicon Oxide Varistor tech. I've had these on my house for the last 7 years, and on friends houses for the last 6. Just prior to putting one on my friend's house, he had 3 lightning damage events that summer. Since then? Zero. It could be coincidence...but I've grown to doubt that. I put one in my brother's home this summer and the next day he took a direct hit and the only damage was to an ethernet switch!

lightning protection for whole house not surge protection
i always install one of these and one of Delta's surge capacitors. the combination is good protection against lightning strikes (major surges) and the capacitor protects against "normal" surges. great combination. you need both,.

i'm shocked
i'm shocked that i'll never really know just how effective this product is , and that there is really the whole point . it's not knowing if it works that makes it so great. regardless , it's cheap insurance these days with all the sensitive electronics people have in their houses it's silly not to have this installed on your main panel.

The Delta LA302 was just as described. How well did it work! I haven't had any lightening damage so far but there hasn't been severe lightening yet. Time will tell if it will do the job.

Great device and easy to wire
It's a device you may never know how well it worked. Good specs, easy to wire, and should provide good protection for the whole house.

Hope it works when lightning hits. Can't test something like this.

Not UL Listed or Tested
Delta Devices are NOT UL listed. They are supposedly lightening arrests, Not voltage surge arrests otherwise known as SPD surge protection devices which are UL listed as 1449 3rd ed.devices.They are enclosed air gap to ground, and take 100000 + volts to jump to ground and are filled with sand. They might help slightly dissipate a Direct lighting strike but little else including voltage surges/spikes from incoming electric lines that may have been hit by lighting a distance away. I have used Eaton Ultra Surge arrestors and Sq D arrestors. Do not buy Delta for surge arrestors or anything not UL listed...
