Lion Rush Coffee Espresso Italiano is definitely the best cup of coffee to start the day with. The 12oz resealable bag holds dark roast, 100% Specialty Arabica, whole bean coffee. The beans have an intoxicating and powerful aroma with a slight shine to its appearance. They originate from Brazil and Ethiopia while roasted and packaged in Miami, Florida. Once brewed, the coffee is dark, bold, and incredibly smooth. There are bitter notes synonymous with coffee but nothing overwhelming or dominating. There are flavor notes of dark chocolate complimented with faint caramel notes. This coffee can be enjoyed black or paired with your favorite additions. It has a low acidity and is simply delightful. The best by date for the product that I received is 6 months from the date that I received it. I definitely will be adding another bag to our Amazon cart when we run low. I love this coffee so much, I am now looking at other coffee options from Lion Rush Coffee.

These beans have a nice bold aroma right out of the bag. A medium-fine grind pulls great espresso shots with a good amount of crema. The coffee itself is full bodied with mild to low bitterness and a slight chocolatey after taste. I would put this as a medium dark roast than a dark roast but I’m not sure if it’s because I expect dark roasts to be more bitter. Overall, pretty good.

I'm a fan of natural process coffees, but I've never had one that was blended with wash process beans.The beans were SUPER oily when I opened them, and they tasted over-roasted in general. I know this is supposed to have a darker roast profile, but they were edging dangerously close to tasting like an ash tray.I may be a bigger fan of light and medium roasts, which both work fantastically well with natural process beans, but I still gave these a fair shake. I still enjoy notes of chocolate and nuts in my espresso, so it's not like I don't also like dark roasts. That having been said, this wasn't quite for me, especially since there are other specialty roasts on amazon that cost the same or less, as well as others that can really show off the unique flavors of a natural process coffee.

Then once I opened its bag, and then ground the beans, the scent became even more satisfying.I brewed up a cup or two and…DELICIOUS. Not too strong. Not too heavy. This is great for me because I'm not a huge dark roast fan. Typically, I combine my dark roast with a lighter flavored bean but with this coffee, that wasn't necessary.The bag says it is Almond Syrup Dark Chocolate coffee. I have yet to detect much of that flavor. I think that’s the only thing I wish I could taste more of. Other than that, I would most definitely consider purchasing this coffee again.
