This saffron arrived in a metal container with a tight seal that was filled to the top with very bright, fragrant saffron threads. The product is fresh and the tin gives an expiration date roughly 2 years in the future, which is nice considering there's a lot of saffron to get through since most recipes don't call for more than a tiny pinch. The price is a good value for the quantity, but when I weighed the contents on my kitchen scale, it came up 8g instead of 9g. It's certainly possible my scale is inaccurate, but this is something to be mindful of.

These saffron threads are -amazing-! I'd been holding off on using this until I had something super special to use it on, but I caved and opened it up and it was like opening a tin of fine tea: the aroma just filled the entire area, rich, lively, and lovely. I felt like purring.I am currently planning on using this for my mom's birthday dinner but the smell is just so heavenly that I almost want to try it in tea, instead. A quick search on the Internet tells me that saffron tea is A Thing, so it should be safe to try, right??? I should definitely taste it before cooking with it, too!!

This saffron is FANTASTIC! The brilliant color of this saffron is beautiful, the aroma is very nice and I get excited every time I go to use it because I know it’s quality. I love that in comes in a reusable tin which will help retain freshness, as well as it’s environmental impact because of being organic. I’m looking forward to seeing the different recipes I can use it in. I’ll be purchasing it again when I run out!
