The Bodyguard [Blu-ray]

The sequel..
Frank meets Rachel again, this time protecting Rachel's now adult son Fletcher, whose identity Frank initially doesn't know because of Fletcher's changed identity under witness protection program. Finally, Frank marries Rachel. Any interested producer, I can write the script within 45 days. The hard part is finding an actress to replace Whitney.

Still A Good Time Nearly 30 Years Later
I always liked this film even though it's corny as hell because I was/am a great fan of the leads - Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. They had excellent chemistry in this movie. But the star of the film will always be the music. The Bodyguard is still my #1 favorite movie soundtrack. The music, the music, the music! So many amazing songs from empowerment ('Queen of the Night') to romance ('Run To You') to the final goodbye (the power ballad rendition of 'I Will Always Love You'), Ms. Whitney was in her prime at this period, and it shows in the film. She was so beautiful and at the height of her popularity. She wasn't the strongest actress, so it made sense to choose a role like this one - a pop singer - as her first major lead in a motion picture. Mr. Costner showed great judgement in selecting her for this part and he himself was still in the afterglow of Academy Awards wins for 'Dances with Wolves' (1990). One standout performance for me was Gary Kemp from the British new wave group Spandau Ballet. Any 80s kid (Gen X) knows who this is! The smarmy but almost lovable agent Sy, was a good fit for him. Cameos by music producer David Foster (most of the tracks on the album, played the orchestra conductor) and his (then) wife, Linda Thompson (and co-writer of 'Run to You', played the screaming blonde who was spattered with blood) were good as well. I really enjoyed watching this again.

Audio Problems Ruined the Movie Experience
The movie is great, the cast is amazing, but the audio quality of this was horrible. The dialog volume was so incredibly low that I had to keep turning up the volume just to barely hear what was being said. Then whenever there was music it was WAY too loud. What an awful experience for a movie that I would have loved to watch without the constant audio yo-yo'ing. This is the only Amazon movie that I have ever had this issue with.

It's a sappy 90's love story, chick-flick but give it a chance.
I have a hard time not watching anything that has Whitney Huston in it. She's an icon and this world lost a vocal angel...The movie is sappy and predictable to me now, but her musical performances are perfection.I can remember seeing this for the first time when it was newly released. I felt it was exciting and was so emotional that I bawled at the end. Also Whitney and Kevin Costner were groundbreaking, portraying a mixed-race couple at that time. So that also added a element of excitement at the time it was released. So I'm not sure what response someone will have watching for the first time in 2020. I'm interested to see. And come on!! A young Kevin Costner and Whitney Huston are two of the most beautiful human specimens. On that alone, I say "Give it a chance!"

Opposites attract
Opposites attract. Whitney Houston the huge star that has no idea she’s under threat. Kevin Costner her reluctant bodyguard. That of course means they don’t get along which makes up the start of the story of The Bodyguard. That part actually works the best because you get a glimpse into a celebrity’s lifestyle with the managers that want them to get out into the public as much as possible, the entourage, the difficult star. Then things get a little off track when Costner and Houston go see a movie and no one notices her. If she was really big that would be impossible. Of course this is Hollywood and reality doesn’t matter. They made the change in tone to the soften the mood and provide some intimacy between the two, which is what the movie is really about. When this came out I didn’t really care about it despite its huge success. Over the years its grown on my and I appreciate the interracial love.

It's campy, flashy, trashy, and a heck of a good time. Whitney Huston is at her peak and sounding incredible, and her chemistry with Kevin Costner works. Highly enjoyable 90's movie that is fun to watch over and over.

Caution! It's a Tear-Jerker!!
One of the few movies that I really enjoyed watching and look back and remember a very Special Talented and Gifted Actress. I'm Blessed to have actually met her as she traveled the globe (I got to meet her at KTEB where our Aircraft were dropping off Guest and picking up new Guest) She was so kind to sign my fuel slip for my daughter, as she waited for them to refuel her jet. Long before selfies but her smile and sincere words really touched my heart as well as that of Kaarjoleena.

Great movie, music and acting in Blu-ray!
What can I say about this DVD, but amazing! Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner are so good in this movie and having it in Blu-ray, just makes it better to view. There is a review that complains about the how loud the music is over the voices. I think almost every TV show and movie I've ever seen, has louder music or violence than the voices. It doesn't matter if it's HD, Blu-ray, DVD..whatever. I wish it would all be evened out, but I disagree that, this is a problem with this one Blu-ray. Just my opinion. I enjoyed this movie in Blu-ray.

Great Movie
Marvelous right from the start till the end. Story is wonderful with the action thrown in by the actors doing an A grade plus performance for the movie making it one of a kind great job. Singing and with a bit of comedy thrown in makes it more heart warming and delightful to watch. A singer hires a bodyguard to protect her from all intruders and dangerous people. Kevin starts modifying her home so he can do his job properly and some problems arise, that at the finish he does not want to take the responsibility and job. She is the problem doing everything her way and walking over everyone. Making it harder to protect her while she is out and causing grief to everybody. Fabulous to watch I rated this an A grade plus for full on action, suspense and thrills by the minute merry-go-round ride at a fast pace entertainment. So what are you waiting for gather up the popcorn retire to the lounge, put your feet up to a fantastic night in with the bodyguard. Enjoy!
