I wouldn't say they are rock hard, but they are pretty hard. I've had them on for 2 weeks so far.

Depends on the length of your actual mail. You cut or file

Q: Is the white layer behind the gel nail the glue?

It’s more of a sticker than a glue. But it holds well.

Q: How do you remove them?

I soak my nails in nail polish remover. Not sure if that's the correct way but it works for me. If you try to remove it after only a day or two it can damage the nail. Mine last about two weeks
