I have a 100 pound shepherd mix rescue dog that is apparenlty super tasty to fleas. After a blitzkrieg level war of chemical warfare inside and out, defleaing for both dogs, two cats (omg ouch), I was left with a dog that had chewed a lot of fur and some flesh off his back end. I've used the elizabethan collars before and they don't stay on this dogs head. We tried and aside from constant adjusting, he also would battering ram the thing into my and that hurt a great deal. So I ordered one of these, the orange slice variant to give a try. It was super easy to size and clip onto him. He can get in and out of our xxl dog door without a problem and his back end is healing up. He can eat, drink and do most of his doggy activities except chew his butt to bloody ribbons. This is, bar none, the most effective and least painful to me collar.

I think this product is great! It just doesn’t work out for us. I have a Great Dane and she’s so long that it doesn’t stop her from getting to her spay wound.

Had the traditional cone I was using and it made it difficult for my Rottweiler to eat or drink water. He was continuously bumping into things- tables, doorway.I found this one and it is perfect. He can still eat, drink water and it is a cushy pillow for when he lays down. LOL

These are completely useless if you expect to leave your dog unsupervised. We had our two 9 month old puppies spayed and neutered and wanted to give them an alternative to the hard plastic e-collars the vet provided. While these are certainly more comfortable for the puppies, they are also hazardous. There’s nothing to stop them from spinning around freely and once the strap part connecting the two halves is in front of their mouths they can (and do) easily chew on it. On top of that, it does not prevent either one of my puppies from reaching their incision sites. Very disappointing.I chose this item because it was highly rated, but when I look at the other reviews I see repeated mention of poop bags. Clearly this listing used to be for a different product and they were able to somehow keep the reviews and apply them toward this new listing. Extremely deceptive and frustrating.

This collar is well made and was durable while it was on our dog. We got it for him because he was terrified when we tried using a cone on him when he had scratched his eye before. He's only 76 lbs but he is several inches taller than our lab and husky. I brought the cone and the donut to the vet when he got fixed. They said the cone by itself wasn't big enough to keep him from messing with things but neither was the donut. Fortunately, the two together were enough. It was pretty durable. If it was to stop him from messing with something closer to his head or to keep hom from scratching at his face I think it might have been enough to accomplish the task but not for recovery agter getting fixed.
