Chasing Degas

We got this for our daughters (2 and 3.5 at the time) this past spring before we went to Paris for a week. I enjoy visiting the museums and didn't want my girls to be completely bored. I included this book in a set of children's books on Paris before we went and this was by far the favorite. It's easy to read and does a great job at introducing the famous artists to little ones through the eyes of a ballerina. When we went to the Musee d'Orsay they took the book with them and searched for Degas throughout the museum and Paris just as the ballerina in the book did. It was very exciting for them and completely awesome to watch two little ones be so fascinated by art all because of the book.

great story line incorporating the impressionist artists. Sounds so interesting when read aloud. Both my girls enjoy this book.

Bought for my four year old ballet dancer. The story is pretty contrived, but the author does manage to work in several of the best known impressionist painters and a little bit about them. The illustrations are very nice. My daughter has only asked to read it that once.

I used this book during an art masterpiece lesson in my daughter's 3rd grade class, and it was a hit, even with the boys. Fantastic story with captivating illustrations, as well as interesting facts about Degas and his work.

Love this book for its beautiful illustrations and story line which has allowed me to introduce Monsieur Degas along with his impressionist fellow artists to my little one.Tres Jolie
