WORKS GOOD
USE IF FOR MY ROLAND BN20A PRINTER. SO FAR IT HAS WORKED FINE, ONLY THING IS THAT KEYBOARD KEYS ARE A BIT HARD, BUT I USE A WIRELESS KEYBOARD SO I DO NOT MIND IT.

IS IT NORMAL FOR THE FAN TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY AND LOUDLY
came with a scratch on the mousped. I didn't care because I wanted to use it, but now there is a lot of fan noise when it is running. Within 1 month this sound increased even more. The fan is constantly running in the background and it makes a lot of noise.

Works great. Until it doesn't - much better now
OK this is my updated review - original review is below thisAfter a few months, Dell and Intel seem to have finally gotten the drivers to a place where the computer behaves pretty much as it should. I'm now very happy with it.One issue that persists is that after powering down and back up, my external speakers need to be unplugged and plugged back in, for them to function. If I don't do this, the computer reverts to the internal speakers even though the external speakers remain plugged-in.I will mention here again that buying the i7 version is probably a waste of money for most people, as the i5 version is plenty fast enough, and 8GB of RAM is also usually enough considering that all of these have SSD system drives. The extra cores in the i7 probably will do very little or nothing for you in normal use, and at worst will use more power from your battery.I've increased my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I would perhaps give it 5 stars, but I'm pretty ticked off at the poor behavior by both Dell and Intel, who should have been more forthcoming about driver updates. Instead I was told it would be fixed either in the next update, or was told there was no problem.Anyhow, I do recommend this computer now. The i5 version is good value for money. It seems to be built well enough that it will last awhile.***************************************************This is the i5 version. From what I've read, folks are having more issues with the much more expensive i7 version, including performance and touchpad issues. This one works very well, when it works. I see no performance issues nor touchpad issues, although I'm usually using a bluetooth mouse instead of the touchpad. However, every day or two the machine either completely freezes or the screen goes black. Either way I need to force it off by holding the power button down for 10 seconds and restarting, bypassing any diagnostic restart message and simply requesting a restart. Windows 10 and all drivers, according to Microsoft, Intel and Dell, are completely up to date.In addition, there are constant nhi messages in the System event viewer, several per minute, which may or may not have to do with the lockups. nhi seems to have something to do with Thunderbolt, but I'm not really sure of how significant this is.Dell support keeps wanting to do the same diagnostics EVERY TIME I CALL THEM. I tell them that the machine has passed these tests already every time, but they have persisted. Waste of time. Finally after 4 calls to Dell, I have been shuttled to another level of support, where someone who deals with Windows software is supposed to be in touch. We'll see.Until then, 3 stars overall is the best I can muster. I hope to come back here with some better news, as this is a small, light, inexpensive enough (for the i5 version, which is the most that just about anyone should need), and fast enough computer for anything but perhaps gaming or detailed video/graphics work.
