So pleased with this purchase. Bought for our granddaughter at Christmas who is 8. She lives it. It is robust.

My sewing machine developed a fault and so until I can have it repaired I decided, based on all the 5 star reviews, to buy this item as I only needed something to sew a simple line of stitching to finish off a national costume I was making for my granddaughter. What a disaster! The instructions were written by someone who thought they could write decent English and so were all but unintelligible. As for sewing simple straight line of stitching, it took me all day to sew a ribbon around the hem of a skirt. This was because of the amount of time it took to thread a decent bobbin and then when I finally started sewing the tension would change at a whim so I would then have to undo the poor stitching, adjust the tension and start again. I lost count of the times I did this so where all these 5 star reviews came from is a mystery to me. On reflection, it would have been quicker to see by hand. If I could give it zero stars, I would. It’s destined for the dust bin as it’s not worth spending anything of up to an hour of my time standing in the queue at my post office to send it back. The old adage comes to mind - you get what you pay for.

Impossible to be used for any job even for kids crafting. Tension can't be controlled. Bobin is fixed, no way of replacing it. Don't see how a child would be adle to set it or change thread colours. Got it for a Christmas present for my boyfriend's daughter and it was so embarrassing when I had to show her how it works. I couldn't get it to work properly for ages, so how is she goung to do it? Avoid not only to save your money, but to avoid embarrassment as well.

For the price I was not expecting too much when I bought this for my wife, but we needed something lighter than our 60 year old Pfaff machine which is very heavy to move about at our age. This is light enough but not that well made - for example the spindle holding the small bobbin for the bottom feed is very difficult to pull out and would probably break before long, and the legs for the "table" are very flimsy. The main problem however was threading it up, as both my wife and I have arthritic hands, and everything is just too small - it might be fine for a youngster with good hands and eyes! The other problem is that the instructions seem to have been translated by somebody who was weak in English and using a dictionary, so some of them are very hard to understand.It might suit some people and probably works after a fashion, but it was not right for us and is going back.

I bought this machine for my 8 year old daughter. It is easy enough to use for sewing but once the bobbin on the side ran out we could not replace it. It is stuck. So we now have a machine that cannot be used again. A complete waste of money.

The instructions for this machine don’t make sense at all! It was really hard to work them out. The bobbin on the side we couldn’t get off, the cotton reel holder needed something to hold it in place because as you sew it spins round and twists itself around the pole. I bought this because I wanted to teach my granddaughter to sew as my grandmother taught me. This has been relegated to the bin now. My granddaughter was very upset so I got her a much better one and now she is loving sewing. Don’t waste your money on this machine.
