The official film of England's 2004/2005 tour to South Africa. It had been 40 years since England last beat South Africa in their own backyard. But, England got off to the best possible start - aided by a Strauss century and a fine second innings bowling spell from Jones - with a victory in the 1st Test in Port Elizabeth. On to Durban, and England almost won again, falling agonisingly just 2 wickets short of victory. At Cape Town, the South Africans fought back with a comfortable victory, only for England to go 2-1 up in Johannesburg largely thanks to centuries from Strauss and Trescothick and a blistering 11 wicket match haul from Hoggard. Finally, to Centurion, where England gained the necessary draw to clinch this historic Test series win. Also included on this Double DVD are highlights from the ODI games.

High quality content. Just a pity there's so little of it.
I was there in Newlands, but not with the Barmies, when they drank the bar at their end dry by tea-time and the whole ground sold more beer in a day than they usually sell in five. Pity England lost the match. I thoroughly enjoyed the test cricket shown on disc one, but why did they squeeze five full tests on to one disc? Particularly when they could easily have fitted another hour's test cricket onto disc two. I also thought the editing was rushed - there aren't nearly enough captions saying who is bowling to who, so that during South Africa innings you quite often have no idea who is batting until they are out. But still and all, an important addition to my cricket DVD collection.

Really poorly produced.
I liked the cricket itself, what you get to see of it, but the DVD is really poorly put together. All 5 tests on one DVD? No sense of the momentum of the matches, just fours and wickets. The ODI DVD is not better - you see Smith hit a four for his fifty, and the next shot is him hitting another four for his century!! Now and again the sound just disappears. Only buy this if (like me) you're starved of cricket.

Disaster.
The Tape itself was a complete disaster. It kept going off then on then off again then on again. It spoiled any enjoyment I might have gained from watching it.

great to watch
The commentary may not be the best, but they keep their eye on the ball. Wonderful to see England captained by Michael Vaughan, a team in such fine form. All the great moments are here.
