les illustrations
Livre très bien relié mais la description de l'article ne précise jamais que les illustrations d'Arthur Rackham sont reproduites en Noir et Blanc : très décevant !

A fine quality book
Classic is the word! A fine quality book, which my children have now read. Let's them know that the Disney storylines are nothing like how they were written originally!

glorious little book
The content of this book is beyond the humble reviewer. Suffice to say these fairy tales pack a lot of meaning into their layers and are worthwhile of the telling and retelling. They should not be forgotten. What I want to share with potential buyers however is what a pleasant book this is. The book is not large but a small size that fits well in the hands. The pages are printed on paper stock with a pleasant texture and a wonderful smell. If you are a bibliophile then you appreciate the smell of good paper. This book has it. The dust cover holds up well to use and overall I am very pleased with this version of the book. I have a few others I have picked up at second hand sales but this one is my favorite to actually hold and read. Most pleasing experience. One caveat, the cover says "complete and unabridged." That is wrong. There is at least one politically incorrect fairy tale that has escaped inclusion here. There are other widely available reprints that do include "the miser in the bush" which is itself euphemistically entitled-- see the Barnes and Noble version and perhaps buy it instead if you want a "more complete" and "more unabridged" version for your library. Nevertheless, the small size and gilt edged paper of this volume makes it a wonderful gift perhaps for a younger reader.
