Stopped raccoons from getting on roof
Original review in June 2022. When I added the updated I mistakenly deleted the original: Raccoons were jumping on our roof and using it as a latrine. As well, they bent our gutter out of shape. Called Nixalite. Had the roof cleaned and a new gutter installed. When they installed the gutter we had them add a leaf guard, and wire tie the spikes into the middle of the guard. So far so good -7-29-22 Just an update that the raccoons have not been on the roof since we installed the spike. Neighbor's fence is a mess though!

OK, a bit expensive, AND.....
I WISH the metal base were made of a metal that magnets would hold to. I'm using them to keep a very active dog off some outdoor doors and such. Have to rig up magnets to do it. Mine is maybe not the standard application, but one they might consider.

Exactly what I wanted
Nixalite makes a very good product. I put this on the poles of my bird feeders to keep squirrels and raccoons off.

Effective Raccoon Barrier!
We used zip ties to attach four of the 2 ft strips to a plastic basket. We added a wire handle so we could carry the "spikey Nixalite basket" and place it at night at the one spot in our water feature that the raccoons constantly tear up. It has been a success. The raccoons give it a wide berth.

Prickly
I’m on the ocean/bay where the gulls are active and like the highest perches available. The houses here are close together, and when my neighbors taller house was equipped with these, they decided to lower heir standards and pecked away on top of my house, requiring a sooner than planned on re-roofing. Now, the gulls are not. A problem at all.
