Carhartt's knit hat with visor offers the warmth and the one-size-fits-all versatility of a knit pull-on plus the ability to shade your eyes from bright sun or snow. Durable and comfortable, it's made of 100 percent acrylic, stretchable rib-knit fabric, and features the Carhartt logo embroidered on the front.

Great-fitting, warm, somewhat-stylish hat.
While I've worn Carhartt products in the past, this is the first thing I've ever bought from the company for myself. And I've gotta say that this is probably the only thing I'll purchase all year that is worth the sticker price. As a guy raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have no shortage of cold weather gear. Unfortunately, not much of that clothing is what I'd call fashion-conscious. This is probably because I see no reason with looking a bit goofy on the few days that are actually numbingly cold. Anyway, as a result of this, I only own one cap: a knitted red-and-orange ensemble that I became increasingly ashamed of as others on-campus would glance at it.The solution, I decided, would be to purchase a simple beanie. But then I saw this hat and it caught my eye, mostly because of the brand matched with the price tag. ("Isn't Carhartt stuff usually expensive?") The fashionable design of it caused me to purchase it right then and there. A few days later it arrived (along with some other junk I'd ordered), and I excitedly yanked it out of the Amazon box.I have a big head. One-size-fits-all hats do not fit my head. Baseball caps need to be at their second-to-largest setting (or completely unfastened) to fit on my head and not cause an immediate headache. Much to my surprise, this fits perfectly. It does have to stretch a bit, but it's not a ripping-at-the-seams stretch. It's more of how it was designed, really. Pulled down over the ears the cap feels a lot more like it's simply hugging my head, and I don't get a headache or any sort of discomfort (apart from the occasional itch that inevitably comes with wearing a hat). The best part is: because it's hugging my head so nicely, I can whip my head around while out cycling and the hat stays firmly planted on my head without sliding off.Would I recommend it? Yes. It looks great, actually fetches compliments now and then, is inexpensive, works perfectly, and stashes away in a pocket when not needed. This thing singlehandedly caused me to start shopping for a Carhartt coat to replace the neon-green ski jacket I've been wearing. Turns out that being warm, and looking (and feeling) good, are possible to have together.

Great Hat For Railroaders!
(PICS, PICS, PICS: Please be sure to take a look at the two pics I've posted of my husband wearing the Carhartt Hat during a recent snow storm, Saturday, April 9-2011. The wind was blowin' pretty good that day).My husband is a railroader... been ridin' those rails for 33-years now; and he says this is the BEST hat he's ever worn. So much so, that now he won't wear anything else.He says it keeps his head WARM, as well as STAYING in place. He used to wear baseball caps, but they would fly off his head all the time in a strong gust. Not so with the Carhartt. As well, it's SOFT to the touch. He likes the 'feel' of the material because the knit is NOT SCRATCHY at all, (like some cheaper knits are).He also likes that it has a VISOR. He says it makes him feel like he's actually wearing a hat for work, not a cap for skiing. Not only that, but he also says it SHIELDS his eyes from the sun, from glare, and from snow. And that's a good thing. For me, it's EASY to wash; I just use one of those baseball-cap washer contraptions, (available here at Amazon too), and throw it in the washing machine. I let it air-dry. It dries quickly.Since he uses this Carhartt hat exclusively for work, I always have a couple I keep in the drawer, for when they wear-out, so he'll always have at least one on-hand, (it's a good idea, like keeping a spare set of shoelaces). The problem is, he's yet to wear one out! *lol*... he's been wearing the Black one and the Brown one for, I don't know, about 2-years now. So you really get your MONEY'S-WORTH out of them. He does like that they come in DIFFERENT COLOURS, so he can change them up that way.You can't go wrong with this Carhartt Hat... wonderful WARMTH, STAYS put, SOFT to the touch, SHIELDS one's eyes, COVERS the top of one's ears, comes in different COLOURS, EASY to wash, DURABLE- (lasting a long time), and a great PRICE-point.What's not to like?

Perfect
Perfect for moderately cold weather. We're in Florida, so this isn't being used a ton - but on the days where it drops below 40 my boyfriend will use this pretty much throughout the day. He's a contractor, so he's outside most of the time at job sites. I was recently in London where it was ~20-25F with the wind chill - this would've been perfect for that as well.I bought a bunch of these & this was by far the best. It conforms to the head really well (so the seams don't stick up or anything weird like that), it's quality material that stretches - but doesn't stretch to the point of being thin...it's exactly what you'd expect from Carthartt.

Exactly as I was expecting when I ordered, no regrets
Cute little torque. Bought for hunting season and waking my dog during hunting season. Fit good and tight and the bill keeps the hat out of my eyes. Carhart to boot so there yu go, go get yu one.

It's soft and fits very comfortably on my head which is a bit large, and can easily be pulled down over the ears on a very cold day. The visor is key as it blocks the sun's rays from bothering my eyes even when wearing sunglasses. Even though it is identified as a mens' hat I am a female and it's great. Definitely a big thumbs up.

Good quality. Warm and stretchy.
My head is fairly large compared to most brands. Was a bit nervous about purchasing before trying it on but it’s nice and stretchy. I usually stretch it out a bit before putting it on. I also wear glasses and it’s not too tight to make it uncomfortable with my glasses on.

Not as shown
I've worn carhartt for a long time, so when I saw this deal I pounced and bought a few for the boys. They're warm and fine, but don't look like the selling photo. They're not embroidered with the full logo, just a small patch instead. Maybe a "wish" style knockoff, who knows. Still gonna keep you warm.
