Tap World

A documentary trip around the world, and see great tappers from around the world. Really suprising in many ways. True poignancy is some of the stories, particularly minorities in New York, who can afford little, but still manage to find time to dance. Tap is a universal language and this proves it. I would have liked to see a routine,where this is mostly improvised, but it is still a great trip, and for once a film that moves by almost too quickly.

I recently re-watched Tap World, in midst of COVID Lockdown..What a fresh a uplifting reminder of what brings joy and wan art form that UNIFIES people around the world, from all backgrounds and foregrounds.A wonderful addition to documentary/dance/world library !!Chloe Arnold, EMMY nominated choreographer, iand Founder of Syncopated Ladies, s coProducer of Tap World.Enjoy!

Nicely done documentary depicting the craft of tap dance and some of the young folks around the world who live for the dance style, a highly recommended purchase if you'd like to know anything about the current state of tap dance and a little history as well.

A lot of racial discussion, so not as kid friendly as it could be. I understand that there are racial elements to the history of tap but it was slightly belabored and diminished the otherwise lovely documentary.

The only frustration is not being able to put on my tap shoes and jump right in as the DVD is playing! (Because I live in a condo, wouldn't go over well!)

My daughter has tapped with Maud Arnold twice now, this is a great informational film about the history of Tap and loving the sport. We support Maud and Chloe Arnold and the Syncopated ladies. Great tap artists, love the different countries and the versatility of this art.
