The Bridge: Series 1-3 [Blu-ray]

I watched series 1 and 3 on BBC 4 and really enjoyed it but never saw series 2 . The Boxed set was on a special deal so I bought it so pleased I did . Watched all 3 series over a few weeks and it reinforced what a great show it is.Summary; 2 detectives from different countries (Denmark and Sweden) work together on a murder case and work well together although they have different personalities and lifestyles they are a great team. Whilst the speech is totally foreign it doesn't seem to detract as the subtitles work well, the storylines have many twists and turns but are enjoyable its not all death and gloom with quite a bit of humour . Something you can leave for a while and watch again and certainly comparable with anything British TV can currently come up with.

Normally I can't be bothered with subtitled stuff but this is cracking stuff. You actually care about what happens to the main characters, which as far as storytelling goes is a big win.On the reviewers talking about the adverts, you can fast forward past them to get to the episodes. I agree they're a pest but not a showstopper.

Who Dunnits not really to be watched twice since you know WHO dunnit! - but - THIS series is watchable over and over, I reckon, just for the pleasure and fascination of Saga, the amazing, delicious, sexy, gutsy, supremely intelligent and hugely complex principal character - her every word and reaction, as of an 'automaton', is mind blowingly 'different' and, were the circumstances not so grim and serious, each would be hilarious! I THINK I shall revisit it over and over with time just for that.

Great series! I started with season one and could not stop until I finished with season 3. Wonderful show ! The actors and writing are all topnotch and the pacing of each show is spellbinding you just keep going with it.Season 1 sets the tone of the series. Sofia Helin is the lead and does an excellent job of making you care for a difficult character. She is surrounded by a crew of actors all of which are more than equal to task of brining their characters to life.This 3 season set is a great buy and the series has a beginning middle and end so this is the way to go if you don't already have any of the series.I really don't want to give anything away about this most entertaining show. I really urge those of you into police shows to definitely see this show!

It is very original and Sofia Helin as the lead detective Saga Noren is an astonishing creation and brilliantly acted. Indeed, all those involved were utterly convincing as was the direction and production. The plots are somewhat labyrinthine as is usual in Nordic Noir (and why not). Like "The Killing", it is hard to stop at the end of each episode .... The only reason I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it is really pretty gruesome at times. If you feel sick at the sight of innocent people suffering then it probably is not for you. But if you have a strong stomach, it is utterly compelling, and as I intimated, Saga Noren is mesmerisingly different and watchable.

The Bridge is an excellent series somewhat let down by Arrow Films' subtitling providers. Most of the subtitles in this Trilogy set are OK, but Season Two's are dreadful. They're so American they're laughably out of place here! And there are several grammatical errors and 'typos'. Again in Season 2; I'm sure there are more uses of the 'F word' than was the case in the BBC's original subtitling. It's as if they've deliberately 'upgraded' various Swedish / Danish expletives purely for dramatic effect! I've contacted Arrow Films about it so it will be interesting to know if they get around to addressing this simple issue. After all, it is probably one of their top sellers.

Super tv drama. Initially the subtitles are a nuisance but because you literally can't take you're eyes off it , bar you speak Swedish/ Danish, well you miss nothing. Gruesome at times but also comical as the other detectives etc come to terms with the complexities of the central character , the main detective. Her behaviour , sometimes along the lines of a two years old , with her blunt honesty , make her a less than likeable character. Very good actress . Her 2 male counterparts in different series are fine actors too and the interplay between them and Saga makes this so watchable. Amazing stuff.

The delivery arrived really quickly, obviously really good Amazon seller. The Swedish subtitles do not detract at all, in fact it makes it even better and atmospheric. Saga, the central character is complex but so likeable. It is one of the best things I have ever seen as far as detective style dramas go. This would make a brilliant present for anyone who loves a decent cop drama. Best to buy the trilogy as if you get the first season and watch it I guarantee you will be hooked!!

Excellente série nordique qui se hisse haut la main au niveau de THE KILLING.L'allégorie du pont entre le Danemark et la Suède est-elle délibérée ?Métaphoriquement, serait-il la passerelle entre Saga, Policière "blessée", sans aucun filtre social, (nous en comprendrons les raisons plus tard, dans les saisons 2 et 3) et son collègue Danois ?En tout cas, une fois que l'on a mis la tête dans cette série, on a du mal a s'en détacher.Attention à l'addiction !

A mon sens, l(une des meilleures séries policières de ces dernières années. On ne s'ennuie pas un seul instant. Le spectateur est tenu en haleine jusqu'au dénouement. Les personnages ne sont pas tout noir ou tout blanc.un bon achat!

Une de mes séries préférées ! Bien ficelée, bon scénario, personnages attachants et très bons acteur, en particulier le rôle principale de la femme flic. Je recommande absolument.

Que dire de plus ? Elle est vraiment fabuleuse, on s’attache petit à petit à ce personnage mais pas seulement, à cette actrice qui vit littéralement son rôle, on reste scotché devant cette série qui vous prend les tripes et on y repense longtemps après avoir malheureusement fini car 3 saisons, ce n'est pas suffisant, on reste sur sa faim ! quel dommage qu'il n'y en ait pas plus ! Bravo et merci à tous les acteurs de cette série passée inaperçue, ils sont tous excellents, ils gravitent autour de Saga qui illumine et domine avec beaucoup de courage.

Après avoir terminé l'intégrale de "killing", j'ai attaqué "the bridge", un peu moins bien à mon avis. La prestation de Sofia Helin n'est pas aussi convaincante que celle de de Sofie Grabol mais dans l'ensemble on passe de très bons moments.

Es una serie de gran calidad, tento en el rgumento y guiones, como fotografía y banda sonora. Las interpretaciones son excepcionales.

Me ha gustado mucho

C'est une excellente série étrangère (tout comme les livres écrits par les nordiques). Le tout repose essentiellement sur le rôle féminin porté par une actrice extraordinaire. Salut l'artiste.

série réussie , fidele çà la tradition du polar "nordique", acteurs supers intrigues bien menées suspense assure. On s 'accroche...

Quel bonheur de suivre le fil des enquêtes de la série Le Pont pour un nord-américain. Des décors différents, une trame psychologique intense et surtout...BEAUCOUP MOINS D'ARMES ! Une réussite. Bravo!

Série copiée avec Tunnel en France et The Bridge aux USA. Aucune des 2 copie n'est à la hauteur de l'original.Pas connu malheureusement pour vous.Avec Breaking Bad, elle fait partie de mes séries préférées.A voir absolument !
