Creative Haven Lotus Designs Coloring Book (Creative Haven Coloring Books) Paperback – Coloring Book, November 21, 2012

I really enjoyed completing this book a few years ago. As I was completing them, almost all of the pictures struck me in a different way than when I started them. When I saw this available on Amazon, I decided to get it and explore other ways they could be colored.

I really like the designs for coloring. They're intricate and relatively small so that I can use a lot of different colors in each design. The reason I docked one star is that five of the pages had already been colored when I received the book. Not complaining - it's fun to see someone else's work and gives me ideas to improve my own. Whoever did it was quite talented with her use of color. I just wasn't expecting it. I did buy it used to save a couple of bucks (Condition: Used - Acceptable - Fast Shipping - Safe and Secure Bubble Mailer! ), but the used items I've bought before (lots of books) have always been in really good shape. I guess that I didn't realize that "used" on a coloring book may really mean USED! lol I'll just keep that in mind in the future, and you may want to, also. Still, a nice book and fun designs.

I purchased three different "Creative Haven" books to start out my new hobby of coloring these "adult designs coloring books". I was really impressed with the first two, but not so much with this one. Don't get me wrong, I do like the designs. and like the other two, there was a nice variety in the complexity of the designs (from beginning adult designs to more complex and detailed harder designs). However, I thought the quality of this book was no where near what the other two were. The lines in the designs were thicker and seemed to be a little blurred to the point where they looked more like bad photo copies from a copier as opposed to the high quality printer look that the other two had.

I'm a coloring fiend, and I've bought countless Dover books over the years. I decided to get this one based on the sample page you can see here on Amazon. Well, I only looked at the sample page and not the back cover. Read the lower left... These Creative Haven books are 'Specially designed for experienced colorists... Perforated Pages printed on ONE SIDE ONLY' YAY! The coloring book gods have answered the prayers of many! I am overjoyed with this new format, and I won't hesitate to get any of the other Creative Haven books.As for the book designs, they are wonderful, containing very intricate repeating patterns that are framed on each page. The paper is great, heavyweight, holds ink nicely. This isn't a kids coloring book. Some kids might be into this, but I think overall they would be frustrated with the small spaces to fill in and patterns to follow.

Very nice assortment of pages to color. It is great that the pages are individually printed with perforated pages. I find it easier to take them out of the book to color. There is a mix of designs with small and large details. All of the pages are repeating patterns, not a single image to color, so that can be a little boring. All in all, it is a good value coloring book. I color mine with a mix of gel pens and sharpies. The sharpies do bleed through the paper.

The designs in this book are so good. They are intricate enough to give me a challenge when I'm setting up a color scheme, and it takes a while to finish a page, so there's plenty of time to space out and daydream with the same pen. Sometimes when I get into that mindspace while I'm coloring, it interrupts my flow when I have to stop and pick out a new pen. That's why this is a great resource for people who like to color as a meditative activity. Plus the designs are gorgeous, You will need some ultra fine points for most of these. the Stabilo 88's are perfect, as are the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners.

Having recently rediscovered the pleasure & relaxation that coloring brings, I purchased several coloring books, with this being one of them. This Lotus Designs coloring book is fast becoming one of my absolute favorites! The designs are intricate, there is a lot of variety & the paper is a good quality - with the designs printed on only one side of the page. I would definitely recommend this book if you like coloring intricate designs. I am enjoying it so much that I will be purchasing more as gifts for Christmas!

This is a wonderful book with a lot of beautiful designs. The pages are all one sided so you can use makers and safely color to your hearts content without any bleed through to other pages. I even tore my first page out because I was afraid of bleed through and now wish I would have at least tested it before I did. (I like to keep the book in one piece for some odd reason.)Anyhow, I bought several other "adult coloring books" the same day and this is the best as far as page thickness and one sided prints.

This book was one of the best I've ever bought. The designs are mixed, some intricate, some less so and they are only printed on one side , so there's no problem with colour seeping through, as is the case with so many colouring books. I will buy another as I've almost finished it.

Although the patterns in this book are intricate the patterns themselves are too heavily outlined which is a shame as it ruins the overall effect. I'd probably buy this again as its good value for money

Loved this colouring book, great patterns. Not too easy, not ridiculously hard. Mum loved it, I loved it. Bought mum a second one
