The Best Team Wins: The New Science of High Performance

The best teams are the kindest. The best teams are the nicest. The best teams know and understand generational differences such as the importance of learning and family for the Millenial Generation. The best teams know how to manage to the one, the best teams know how to get at clarity for teams, they know how to challenge everyone and fifthly they do not forget their customers. This book is littered with stories and information that any team must own for their success.

I expected this book to provide fresh thinking about what makes teams high performing, but found a lot of the same thinking that has existed for some time. There was a strong focus on generational differences and how those impact team interactions, expectations, working rhythms, etc., which was interesting and somewhat helpful. But this didn't "crack the case" for me in terms of a step change relative to how to move a team to high performance from wherever they are starting.

This is my favorite team dev. book of 2018. In fact, I just ask our onboarding lead to purchase a copy because there are great new ideas for onboarding team members to quickly get them productive and engaged. One of my favorite concepts is the team deviant to help increase innovative thinking in the workplace. Look forward to the next book from the Culture Works team!

If you are new to forwrd thinking management styles then this will help a lot. These are some basic ways of saying get employees engaged.

This book helps good leaders become great as they learn how to prioritize their time and focus on the development of individuals. I found myself taking pages of notes and implementing the ideas into my one-on-ones with team members immediately. The data is solid, but the 101 ways to inspire your time is gold.

This book has a lot of great ideas and explanations on how to impact your teams' performance in a positive way. It was an easy read and a definite keep for ongoing reference. I definitely recommend it!

Wether you are on a team or lead a team; this book is for you. Chalked full of real life examples and academic research, the authors spell the critical principles of effective teamwork.

Gostick e Elton raccontano in maniera molto efficace come lavorare in team. Libro davvero apprezzato per la capacità dei due autori di descrivere l'evoluzione del business, l'ingresso sul mercato del lavoro dei Millennials ed il loro modo d'interpretare il business. Molto utile la descrizione del team virtuale e l'importanza di lavorare cross-functional. Una lettura molto gradita e suggerita.
