Model 22 Tourist - Orienteering Compass for Left Hand with Plate L

The best thing about this compass is its smooth accurate settling. It's great for quick, accurate azimuth readings.I'm not a fan of the bulky top, above the thumb, preferring an open thumb placement like Silva has. But I'll trade that for the distance notches on the direction edge any day. (I think some newer models have this u shape for the thumb.)I also wish that the compass was easier to read without glasses. It's not high contrast/visibility. Bifocals are not an option when trekking through the woods.Despite these small flaws, this has become my go-to compass where I know I'll need to take fairly accurate readings but still need the speed and convenience of eyeballing map and compass at a glance orienteering style.
