We got tired of leaving our back door open or having to have a key handy every time we came in and out. The final straw was when we locked ourselves out. So I went looking for something that was easy to open with a fingerprint or a code. This Smonet lock gave me all of that at a great price.I use the fingerprint sensor. Actually I have it encoded to my thumb which is easiest to use when I'm coming in. It works consistently and reliably for me. My wife doesn't have the same level of success with the fingerprint and uses the code most often. We also use the code when we have dog sitters or other people coming by where we need temporary access.Having a physical key was important to me as a backup, although I've never needed to use it. The additional fobs are a nice feature but we really haven't used those either. We just stick to the fingerprint and the code.The batteries actually last a long time which was something that I was worried about it first.I've had this over a year and a half and it suddenly just stopped working. I mean the electronics were completely dead. I contacted Smonet and even though it was out of warranty, they sent me a replacement. Honestly I didn't think I'd get any response at all so I have to give them all the credit for having good customer support.

I got this thing, because my roommate left my house one morning when I was working 12+ hour shifts during the day and he left with the door unlocked and the house unattended without the dogs inside as well for 8+ hours and we live in a bad neighborhood. I went back on my surveillance videos to see when he left and if he ever came back, but never did. It really upset me, so I decided to sock my money into it as soon as possible. This was the only one I saw that would work great for what price it has. It was easy to install, took a minute to drill the extra hole for the screw to go in, but other than that, it was quick and easy to install. I haven't done any water resistance testing on it, so I will test that out eventually. After installing and getting it powered on, I was able to install everything on this smart lock easily and set a pin code on the lock for when we can't access with our finger prints. It's pretty secured, due to the fact that once set up on your account, no one can create an account and try gaining access to your lock. I've tested this on my roommates phone and sure enough it gave no access without my account. I also love the fact that instead of normal 4 pin code, you can go up to an 8 pin code for better security. I also want to test out how easy it is to lock pick this smart lock, so I'm going to refer it to a lock picker that specializes in difficult locks to see if the door lock will go into emergency lock mode to keep anyone from gaining access. This listing didn't give much detail to what all comes with this smart lock, but at least I know it comes with 2 smart keys and 3 regular keys in case the batteries died on the lock. I'm also happy that if I have a repair guy come to my house or friends or family come by to visit the house for a few days or so, I can set them up with the finger print access for temporary use for the time frame of how long they will be staying at the house. It also works out too, because my roommate goes to school, or when he is back to work and we both aren't home, but need someone to take care of our dogs, we can have someone in his family to come over to get access to the house to take care of the dogs. Overall, I'm satisfied of this system. It's fully metal and seems like there is no way anyone can tamper with this lock with any type of prying tools. I'm glad I got this. Now I don't have to worry about anyone actually gaining access to my house without permission while no one is either home or not.

I really liked this lock. It was easy to install, looked great. The app on my phone was easy to use. I liked all the features. It stopped working less than a week after installing. Initially, started sticking from the inside of the door couldn't open or unlatch. Then lock / latch wouldn't unlock from either side of the door. The cotter pin was in place correctly. I have contacted customer service and will update review. Amazon has offered me a refund but I would like a replacement. I'm hoping this is a one off.Update: Contacted by customer service same day as complaint. Awesome customer service! They are sending me a new latch for the lock. Will check back in after I receive the new latch.Update: I received the new latch in 5 days. Replaced it and lock is working great again. Will update again in 6 -12 months.

I was looking for a lock that would be secure, easy to install and didn't need to modify my existing door. This installed very easily. I could program it easily and in no time had all my family members setup with a pin and biometrics. Unfortunately just after a year the keypad began malfunctioning and rendered the unit unusable. I reached out to their customer support email and got a response within 24 hours. They were very helpful and after sending a video to help explain what the lock was doing decided to warranty my lock anyway!

Overall we are quite satisfied with this locking handle.We purchased this lock in January 2021. The installation was straightforward. I'm a carpenter by trade and have installed hundreds of door handles and other than having to drill a new hole for mounting it, there was no issue. The instructions in that regard were sufficient.Connecting the lock with the phone app was simple and the lock functioned properly as advertised.We used the lock for about a month using the fingerprint sensor and that function has been somewhat hit and miss. My print worked almost every time while my wife was frustrated that hers had to be done again and then it would only function occasionally. If the fingerprint was put in again it would work ok but not all the time.The IC scanner worked every time. The keypad entry didn't seem to work properly but with the IC card working I didn't bother with the others.However, the mechanism began sticking about the end of the month and would actually stick open. I contacted customer support and that was a little confusing. However, once I was able to contact customer support, help was immediate and the sent a new latch system within two days.The new lock has worked (almost) flawlessly. The keypad, it turned out, wasn't working properly in the old one (which I have reset and seems also to be working flawlessly) and the new keypad works 100% of the time as does the key and IC card. The fingerprint reader is still somewhat hit and miss but my purchase was not based on the fingerprint reader so that is a minor inconvenience to me.I really appreciate the functions the the app gives to the lock by having an auto-locking feature which is adjustable (and can be turn on or off), the passage setting which allows for time of day auto-locking (or not), the Bluetooth feature and we also purchased the remote gateway for remote lock/unlock, the Ekey function, and I get notifications (or not) for when the door is unlocked or locked.I would recommend this item.Edit: We've been using this lock for about 6 months and other than the issue with the unit sticking (which was dealt with VERY quickly and to our satisfaction) the fingerprint scanner was the only real issue.Well I think that I've solved the problem. The unit asks for your finger to scan when programming and when it does this I'm usually covering the sensor completely. But when I have scanned my finger when trying to unlock the unit I haven't done this and I think that light is leaking in and confusing the sensor.Regardless, during the last number of weeks since using this technique it has rarely failed to open on the first attempt and never after the second attempt. It appears to be working as it should.

Install was quick and easy. I had an issue with the exterior handle not turning the latch. Contacted the manufacturer. They were able to identify that I missed a step in the installation process. I was able to quickly and easily correct my error. No further issues. I was this handle of my garage door. I love the fingerprint I can easily access the space, even with relatively full hands. I live in Alberta and was concerned about functioning during very cold weather. Currently no issues and the cold weather does not seem to be draining the batteries. Very happy with purchase.

After only a year and half, something inside the unit broke. From other reviews, I suspect it was plastic gears inside. The key was unable to move the damaged mechanism so I am now locked out of my shed in January. I am disappointed, as this lock reviewed very well. With only a one year warranty, I will have to purchase and install a new lock. Also, the fingerprint reader seldom worked.

I’ve had this smart door handle on my door for almost 3 years now and I am still in love with it. I have it on an inside door, so while I cannot comment on how it holds up in weather, everything else about it is perfect. I love that you can add a bunch of different fingerprints to recognize, and even control when each fingerprint has access or not. It is very high quality and definitely worth buying. It also lasts very long between battery changes; I’ve only had to change them 2-3 times in the 3 years. Highly recommend!!!!!!

I installed the lock very easily. My kids love using the fingerprint function to enter the house. Having the lock auto-lock after a set time is a big peace of mind.the latch on my lock has a defect. I contacted Smonet and Elaine from customer service answered back very quickly. After providing the information requested on the purchase and issue, a new latch will be sent.
