Works like it should and a super clean install
First I hooked up the micro controller to the computer and installed its firmware. It was a little confusing because when you add the firmware it will close the USB connection as soon as the copy is compete. That's normal and the micro should blink green if firmware installed correctly. If you hold button 1 on mine and plug into USB you can reflash firmware. Again check for green(ish) led. That and the chip install have been the easier parts to figure out. Lots on the software side for jumping right in. Good chip so far and does what it claims.

Works for HAC-001
No problem at all. Havent soldered in a while so it was intimidating to see how tiny the capacitors are. My advice, don't try to be perfect. Just sturdy and efficient. Don't want too much heat for long on your board. In the description it says you'll have to flash it but V4 chips already have the firmware on it. Kinda confusing but I got the V4 chip. Plugged it to my pc and the light flashed blue then green 3×. When I researched I found that it meant that there is in fact firmware on there. So I just installed it. Luckily I had bought a micro tip soldering iron from micro center. Installed the necessary files to my SD and it was done. Installing the chip is literally the fastest part of the process. Just take your time. These components are very tiny.

You must put the firmware.
It works great but you need to download the firmware and put it into the board. You just need to soldering six points.I minus one star because I need to put the firmware.

Seller doesn't respond and PC won't recognize the chip
Whenever I plug the chip into my PC to put the firmware on it, it shows blue and then flashes yellow. The seller never responded to my questions and I got a second one to try a new one with the same result. I don't know if they are selling duds or if I'm doing something wrong. I know my cables are fine and I tested multiple cables. At this point, it was a huge waste of time and I recommend buying the chip from somewhere else and don't waste your time.

Bricked my switch
Easy install, I’ve done a couple instinct chips on v2 switches so this was easy for me.Installed this on a patched v1, I get the no sd card screen as expected but if I try to boot to OFW I get blue screen of death. Tried booting hekate from sd card and just get an illuminated black screen. Be careful with these now I owe my friend a new switch.

It works
You do not need to flash the chip. Just load you cfw to the SD card. Lots of YouTube vids about that and how to install the chip. Just make sure you buy the right chip for the right version of your switch. The points you solder to are very small, so take your time.
