The A-G Piano Book 1: Novice: 2nd Edition (The A-G Piano Book Series: 2nd Edition)

This is the second edition of the original edition, which I have, now broken into 3 smaller books of different difficulty levels of young beginning students. I use these book as a supplements to other method books and pick and choose depending on the student. Good solo music for performances. The music and the illustrations especially appeals to my young boys who appreciate having humorous and bolder themes more in line with their interests and imaginations. Fantastic illustrations! This series works best for elementary age students who are comfortable moving out of fixed positions and can pick up new concepts quickly.

This book is great for elementary aged students or beginner middle school students that feel too old for the primer/primary method books. There are great illustrations that elicit cross-curricular learning and foster great musical conversations in addition to getting the student excited for lessons. There is not a huge emphasis for "home-key" hands, but there are some fingerings to assist for student-led thought. This book may be difficult for students who are at the very beginning of their musical journey and have little to no understanding of music.

The artwork is awesome in this book. i cant help but smile when I'm learning the song and notes. this book (and the others as well) are practical and not overwhelming. it was a joy to learn and i bought the others in the series as well because i enjoyed it so much!

This is a wonderful book series that really appeals to piano students who aren't vibing with the usual classical method books. Gorgeous illustrations, fun silly pieces. It really keeps kids engaged.
