Baby weighing feature
This T-Electronics scale runs using 2 AAA batteries (not included). It's very simple to change weight units by pressing the button underneath to toggle to perferred choice. The scale itself is not very heavy or bulky, making it easy to tuck away when not in use. What I like most about this scale is it gives an option to safely and easily weigh your baby just by simply holding them in your arms. The way it works is you first have to hold down the button underneath until a little person icon pops up in the right corner. Step on and the scale will lock in your weight and begin to flash. You then have 40 seconds to pick up baby and step back on the scale. Since it locks in your weight you are able to completely step off. Then you step back on whilst holding your infant and the scale will calculate babies' weight only. (See video for example).

Easy to use and set up!
Basic digital weight scale for weighing 13-440 pounds. When weighing in standard mode, it does not measure items less than the lowest stated weight (6 kg or 13.2 pounds). I placed a bag holding 10 pounds of items on the scale and did not get a reading. However, in 'baby weighing' mode, the weight was recorded. The scale has three weight units to choose from: kg (kilograms), lb (pounds), or st (stones). The instruction book provides clear and simple directions for selecting the unit of measure you prefer. You need to supply two AAA batteries to power the scale. There is a 'baby holding weighting' mode. This allows you to weight yourself, then weigh a baby (pet or anything else over 1.5 kg) and the scale will lock on the total. You still have to do the math, but it gives you time to set the item you were holding down and make a note of the weight before it disappears. You have to reset the scale to exit the 'baby weighting' mode. What I didn't like:1. The display does not light up. The numbers are large but often the scale is in your shadow so you may have to move off the scale in order to read the number, depending on the lighting situation.2. The scale does not remember the unit of measure you were using when you change batteries. You will need to reset it. Granted, these scales do not require battery changes often and it is easy to do, so it is a small inconvenience.3. Does not register low weights in standard mode, need to set up a different mode to weigh items or pets under 13 pounds.

Needs smart phone app to use some features
This is a very beautifully designed white glass scale with Bluetooth capabilities to send data to its app on your smart phone. I've found it to be accurate and easy to use. The only reason I rated it four stars instead of five is that having the digital display backlit would make it much easier to read, especially in dimly-lighted areas.

Nice basic scale
The T Electronics Smart Digital Scale is a nice basic scale. Put in 2 AAA batteries (not included), press the unit button to switch from kg to lbs and it was ready to step on. My other scale is glass and has feet and will loudly tip over if you step on the edge causing the round battery to fall out. This scale does not have those issues. It is very stable and does not tip over plus the battery compartment has a cover so the batteries won't just fall out. However, it says this is a smart scale that connects to an app but I didn't see any directions on how to do that or what the app is called. I found the weight to be accurate. I weighed myself holding different things of different weights (for variety) and compared my old scale to this one and every time, this scale was .1 pound lighter than the other one. So, very consistent!

Works well
This digital scale is a nice, simple scale. It requires two AAA batteries (not included) but otherwise works right out of the box. We weighed everyone in the family who was willing to be weighed, and the weights were proportional and within the appropriate ballpark, so it seems to be reasonably accurate. We don't have babies, but we did weigh our cats, who were within 1 lb of the weights they were at our last vet visit (6 months ago) so we think this would definitely be functional for babies. I really like that the scale doesn't retain past weights, so if one member of the family puts on a few pounds, no one else needs to know. It's small, lightweight, and works well for us. What I like the least is how much dirt and dust shows up on the black glass top--plan to wipe it down every day, because it really shows. But the scale itself works well.
