Love this book, main manual through my master on Environmental Design of Buildings. Highly recommended

This book draws on a variety of sources, including vernacular heritage, to briefly describe the science, provenance, advantages and disadvantages of various passive strategies. It is a comprehensive document and despite much further reading I have yet to find a strategy elsewhere not mentioned in this book. Very easy to read and dip into.

but they have the 3rd edition which gave more clear guide to use the information. I recommend to buy the third edition instead.

Excellent book for anyone who is designing a home or simply wants to improve the energy efficiency of an existing home. Gave me lots of detailed design concepts as to how to accomplish this based on many factors such as climate type, wind direction, window size and location, etc. It will save me a fortune over the years. I do recommend the spiral bound version as it lays open flat, an advantage when you're reading, highlighting text, and studying the drawings.
