perfect for all traditional sized binoculars as well as larger night vision bins- i love this
The media could not be loaded. After getting into the practice of using my night vision viewfinder binoculars on a regular basis, i quickly found out they need some kind of special carrying/travel case. One of the main reasons for this is not the obvious which would be for lens protection but for button protection. My night vision device i am referring to is meant for a rough and tumble setting. The issue with that unit is it is a modern, though design flawed device that has those push button functions. I have yet to understand that kind of button setup, because if the said device leans up on anything to snuggly then the power becomes engaged. I have went to grab that camera several time's, only to find it hot and the power on, with the remaining percentage almost to zero. Now, with this top notch bin case from the Badlands brand, i can have that assurance that the camera/binocular combination unit will stay sitting upright and housed in a way that keeps the buttons away from an area that will accidently engage them. This harness style pack can be used for other purposes as well, its just perfectly designed for its intended purpose. I love how the top opens up with a magnetic system. This is great because it eliminates the zipper. That is a well thought out design for an pack that is geared for the outdoors like this one. Not only is this of a tan camouflaged design, but that magnetic top clasp contributed to the overall longevity of the case. I say that because most of my zipper bases bags and packs over the years end up jamming then the teeth of the zippers will break away. With this having not zipper it will avoid that main problem area.I chose the camouflaged option but there are two other nice looking solid colors to chose from as well.I am happy with how the straps use a plastic push buckle system. That allows for a quick manipulation of the straps, without the hassle of manually working with adjusting a slide-style buckle, which is also a part of the strap system, though not essential due to those plastic contraptions.I like the little details such as the small loop at the very top of the pack. This is one of the main ways i carry this around if not using the straps. This little loop can fit several fingers and is sewn in in a way that knows it will be used for hanging or carrying manually as an alternative to the back strap.I like how there is an extra inner pocket that has a mesh front region.I was able to fit my night vision viewfinder device in this along with an electromagnetic field testing unit snuggly. To conclude, i am happy with this pack and totally recommend it. This is easily a five star rating because the design seems to be fully realized in relation to what the product page claims.

Quality gear
Quality gear can be hard to find, even more so when you take value into consideration. There are some items that once you pick up and hold in your hand, you can tell if it's quality or not. The Badlands Bino Mag 2 is quality. This is my first Badlands product and I am very impressed with what they've made. I really like the magnetic lip closure and the retaining magnet when opened. The magnets are strong and I trust their claim of being sealed. In terms of material quality, construction, design, execution, and end-user usability, it gets high marks from me. I would not hesitate to use this bag to protect any of my optics while out on a hike or hunt. In addition to binoculars, it's also easily adapted to being a general-purpose chest pouch and can also house smaller camera systems and items. Just for giggles, I tried putting in a Canon RF 28-70 f2 attached to a EOS R6m2 with a cage on it. Surprisingly, the medium bag accommodates it fairly well. The whole lens with hood is able to slide into the pouch and the body/cage rests right at the bag lip. Obviously, I can't close the bag, but I would feel confident in using it as an open pouch/holster for my camera system (of course with limitations on bending over and jumping a lot).

Quality materials and construction with some added bulk
Make sure you look at the sizing carefully before you order. My Nikon ATBs were not listed so I played it safe and ordered a medium. I should have ordered a small because the case is bigger than needed. I have used several elastic style harnesses, but my current favorite is the Kuiu harness because it is super light and fits close to your body without bulk. The materials have a high-quality feel and the camo pattern is a good breakup that should work in many darker environments. I believe the case itself provides very good protection for your glass which is should be everyone's goal. The harness has a very generous yoke, and it fits very comfortably at the bottom of your rib cage. I wore it around for a bit and even in warm temps it was very comfortable. Seems to have plenty of adjustment for when you add cold weather layers. There are many attachment points, and an elastic bino cord with quick release rings on each end. The flap closure with magnets works better than I exppected. It's quiet and drops down out of the way without flopping around. There were a few things I thought were not as desirable. One is that bino cord. It does not go back in by itself, so you may have to fiddle with getting back inside or it interferes with the flap closing. The other thing I did not like as much was the size and bulk. The sloped top adds a height, but overall it just seems bulky. It does not move around, but takes up a lot of space up front. I don't think it will interfere with hunting activities, but it makes your side profile much wider. So I would recommend this harness and case system because it is well designed and built. Just be aware of the size and added bulk before you buy.

rugged, easy to access binocular case
This is a great case for small to medium sized binoculars. The case is very well made. The material is thick, water resistant, and quiet. The main compartment is magnetic. The magnetic connection is actually very strong and is very easy to get into, which is ideal for when bird watching or hunting. The case is compatible with attachments that are sold separately, but I think that the case is great without. The straps and back of the bag are cushioned and breathable making for a very comfortable fit. Overall, this binocular case is ruggedly made, comfortable, and easy to access.
