Max cushioning was once considered a curiosity, limited to specialized fields like ultramarathoning. Now, with its benefits recognized across a wider population of runners, max cushioning is here to stay. With the Fresh Foam More, New Balance applies their signature performance technology to an ultra-cushioned silhouette. The latest in the series, the Fresh Foam X More v4 combines the most Fresh Foam X put into a midsole to date with the smoother foot strike transitions of the largest rocker in the Fresh Foam range, a wider platform for balance between cushioning and support, and lightweight breathable upper construction. The Fresh Foam X More v4 is a total comfort experience.

Cushion for miles. I have plantar fascia and I tested these 10 shoes for cushion
I ordered the following shoes that were recommended in running shoes articles as having allot of cushion in the heel.New Balance Fresh Foam X More - Has the most cushioning out of all the shoes tested. They are almost to much cushion. I'm not sure about running on them yet as I'm healing from the injury. They are my favorite for walking.Asics Gel Kayano 28 - Very soft heel and it would do the job. Built for a runner (sleek).front of sole is a little thin when compared to the New Blance Fresh Foam X More but it's good for a runner.ALL OF THE FOLLOWING WERE NOT ENOUGH CUSHION:Brooks Glycerin 20's - Not enough cushionBrooks Adrenaline GTS 22 - Not enough cushionHoka Bondi 8 - Not enough cushionHoka Gavoloti 4 & 5 - Not enough cushionBrooks Ghost 15 - Not enough cushionASICS Novablast 3 - Not enough cushionOn Cloudmonster - Not enough cushionHopefully this saves you from ordering 10 pairs of shoes like I did.For my plantar fascia injury I selected New Balance Fresh Foam X More and the Asics Gel Kayano 28New Balance has an insane amount of cushion (maybe to much) for some. Asics Gel Kanyano 28 has the cushion gell heel and is sleek for a runner. I kept BOTH

Comfy shoes with one issue
Super comfy shoes with an unreal level of cushioning I've never experienced before. I'm not much of a runner, but these are great for travel or walking long distances as the fresh foam just soaks up all the shock. The one issue I have is the "N" logo on the right shoe digs into the side of my foot. I've only noticed this on the right shoe, but my semi-wide foot causes the front of the "N" logo (which is not elastic) to dig in after wearing more than 20 minutes. It's almost make the shoe unwearable for me, but your results may vary. Even though the More V4's have a generous toe box, this logo could be an issue if you have wide feet like me. Just be sure to try them on before you buy, and make sure you try wear them walking around as well as just sitting (like in a car or airplane) because that's when I notice the digging the most. Good luck!

Extreme Cushion
The NB X More V4 has a lot of cushion which is great for my bad knee. It offers a soft landing and good stability.

Pain reliving shoes
My husband has a plantar plate injury and a very high instep which causes his feet to have a lot of pain. These shoes were recommended by his podiatrist and they are working quite well. He is pain free while wearing these shoes. We got one pair for house shoes and another for outside shoes.

Decent cushion
I'm a male nurse and on my feet about 13 hours a day. I need good cushion, especially in my heels, for surely in the feet overall. These have decent cushion, but I don't get that energy/push back in each step like I do with the NB fuel cell bottom/soles. Ever since experiencing their fuel cell soled shoes (even the not so thick soled ones), the fresh foam ones just don't do it for me like those do. The fresh foam may be better for others, but the fuel cell works better for me. But they're great material and very breathable.

Ok shoes. Refund takes a month
I ordered these shoes along with Asics Nimbus 25.Pros-1. Looks. I love white shoes so I really liked the look of these shoes. Almost a 9 out of 10 for the color combination and design.2. The materials are premium as well. Not a fan of the big N but that is par for the course with New Balance.3. The tongue is good. Not as good as the one in Asics but cushions well.4. The upper was comfortable but not super airy.5. The feel inside the shoe is roomy. I have medium width feet and my toes felt very relaxed.6. The width of the shoe makes it very stable. So if you like how it feels, it can be a good shoe for recovery runsCons-1. The outsole is big which gives lots of cushion. However, there is a hollow feel to it. When the shoe hits the ground, there is an initial feeling of softness which is quickly replaced with a feeling of compressing a balloon. Hard to describe it but it is not similar to the Nimbus 25 or ultraboost. More on the lines of Nike invincible run. Both of them gave pain in my right knee within few minutes.2. Minor con- the shape of the shoe is very bulky. The front end feels boxy.3. This is not about the shoe but about Amazon. The return process with Amazon was a nightmare. They kept pushing the date of refund back multiple times. The chat and call features first take you to an Indian call center and those employees would do everything to not address your problems. I am an Indian and I am ashamed at such a service. Amazon did not refund the money for over a month because apparently that's how long it takes them to process the return of this shoe. Even after a month, it was stuck in a limbo and I had to contact them again, spend 30 minutes on phone while the agent (someone higher than the call center) processed the refund. Overall an unsavory experience.

Wow!
I ordered these shoes in my typical women’s size 9. That’s the size I take in Nike vapormax. The NB size 9 was too big so I got the men’s 7 since they were $ 60 cheaper than the women’s 8.5. At first, I didn’t like the feel of these shoes, I thot they made it harder when walking up hills due to the high platform. I kept wearing them because I didn’t feel like going thru another return process. These shoes are amazing! I’m older with arthritis, 2 total knee surgeries. I was able to walk at a fast pace for 5 miles in these. Now that’s something that I haven’t done In years. I have bunions however the stretch knit upper provided comfort while the springy soles propelled every step. You will not be disappointed in these shoes.
