What is worse? 1. No barber/hair salon for a few months or 2. A dull pair of scissors chewing my husband's hair.Answer - 2. My lack of adequately sharp scissors for the husband's hair definitely left a chewed look to an otherwise marginal hair cut attempt. Enter the PURPLE DRAGON shears and WOW! Yes I'm shouting! Hair that has gone from chewed, frayed ends now are smooth and precisely cut. The haircut is a total disaster, but the scissors are sharp & a delight to use. I'll be covering the mirrors with Saran Wrap to blur the truth to said husband.

I like these scissors and the little red jewel is an attractive and fun addition aesthetically, but compared to another style of scissor I have used in the past, it's not perfect. The tip of the scissors is rounded and not pointed so it is not the right scissor for point cutting. I don't want to return these scissors but now I will have to order another scissor with a pointed tip that can handle point cutting efficiently. All that said, I just cut my hair and it was great for blunt cutting. It was effortless to get an even straight edge to the bottom length and for the little point cutting I needed, I just used a pointed edge scissor and it's one of the best haircuts I gave myself. I should also mention, I'm not a professional. Just a person who was tired of paying 75-85 bucks for a rather simple haircut and even with that, I usually was unhappy with the cut so I started filling in and improving on those cuts and found over time, I did a better job and now with these scissors, it's even easier and better. I've learned you absolutely need sharp scissors. My old ones were not as sharp and I discovered I was getting a lot of split ends due to that.

As a professional stylist I'm used to small scissors. It was hard to find a pair that meet my expectations, for the price of this pair I'm amazed how light weight they are how good they cut I love them. They're low price high performance thank you

These are a steal and when used properly do exactly what they're expected. The ultimate all in one tool. I couldn't wait to use them and trimmed and thinned my hair with them immediately and was extremely impressed. I'm itching to investigate their full capabilities on someone else.

These Purple Dragon 5" hair cutting scissors have a nice fit with more than ample sized rings. Even the largest fingers should be able to use them. They feel balanced and fit my hand nicely. They are suppose to be 440C Japanese stainless steel, but I am wondering if they really are, or if they are a knock-off copy. They do not have it etched in the blade nor did they come with a Purple Dragon tag as shown in the Amazon product pictures. I can feel nicks in the blades when I run my thumbnail down them and they only cut as good as Purple Dragon $10 scissors. I am debating whether to return them or not.
