Formed in 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later based out of New York City Book Of Love featured vocalist Susan Ottaviano, keyboardist Ted Ottaviano, Lauren Roselli and Jade Lee. The band gained its first exposure as the opening act for two Depeche Mode tours in 1985 and 1986. Not only has Book of Love's music been a staple of dance clubs and college radio, it has been featured in various films and television over the years. The band's song ''Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes)'' was featured in the 1987 John Hughes film Planes, Trains & Automobiles as well as Miami Vice. In 1991, the song ''Sunny Day'' was featured in the movie The Silence of the Lambs, in a scene in which band member Lauren Roselli also had a cameo with Jodie Foster. Also, the song the song ''I Touch Roses,'' was featured in the 2000 movie ''American Psycho.''Since their active years, Book of Love's songs ''Boy'' and ''I Touch Roses'' have been rediscovered by new audiences. Both their original versions and subsequent remixes are heard in both dance clubs and on alternative radio stations. The band still tours to sold out venues nationwide. Notefornote Music is proud to be releasing this collection of fan favorites.

Chronological Survey of Sire album tracks 1985-1993
Nicely done new compilation with generous 20 tracks and ALL their hits and songs released as singles. However, several are not in their single versions like they were on the previous CD comp from 2001.You Make Me Feel So Good, Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes), Pretty Boys And Pretty Girls, Tubular Bells,Hunny Hunny, Counting The Rosaries are all album versions and not the remixes and edits released as singles.(All those single versions appeared on The Best Of CD in 2001)MIssing are five post-1993 songs:Getting Faster, Try and It's In Your Eyes - from The Best Of Book Of Love (2001)All Girl Band and Something Good from the digital only MMXVI Anniversary Collection (2016)and don't forget We Three Kings from 1987 that was on the Anniversary Collection.

Finally, all the songs on one CD!
After a miserable "Best Of" released in 2000. I am so glad to see "Book Of Love" get the treatment they truly deserve. In 2016 BOL released a "30th Anniversary Best Of" that was much better than the 2000 "Best Of" CD, but it still left off key singles like "Boy Pop" and etc.. I sent an e-mail to Rhino in 2016 due to the fact that the "2016 30th Anniversary Best Of" was never released on a CD format and they sent me an e-mail in return telling me that " a CD format was never going to happen". I guess after enough die-hard fans lobbied and hounded Rhino records that they finally changed their minds or just came to their senses that this is one band that truly deserves a complete "singles collection". I can truly say that it's finally here!!

Nice Track Selection, But Original CD's Sound Better
Nice song selection, though these are mostly the regular album tracks and here's the thing - this compilation, while not brickwalled by any means from a compression standpoint, has less dynamic range than the original album cds. Since these are all fairly easy to find and cheap, I'd recommend just buying all four albums instead of this compilation. You'll get some other decent tracks, you can skip the ones you don't want, and the sound will be more enjoyable when you turn it up loud!

Great songs and high quality audio
Great songs selection, excellent audio quality at good price. This CD includes significant tracks through the Book Of Love’s career. I strongly recommend it to anyone who grew up in the 80s!

Is it a waste of money?
You probably have everything that is on this album already, but it looks great with the rest of my collection.
