Nice upgrade from your basic Trolling Motor
Install was easier than I expected. I replaced an older Minn Kota Edge and none of the bolt holes in the deck lined up so I had to drill new holes. I highly recommend that the Minn Kota Quick Release Bracket be ordered at the same time. It made the installation much easier. There is a specific mounting position clearance for the shaft at the gunwale. Once the bracket is installed on the motor, it is easy the measurement and align the motor correctly and mark off the base position with tape. Then remove the base of the bracket from the motor and align with the tape, drill and secure the base with mounting hardware. Put the motor on the base and you are done. The bracket secure with a thumb bolt and has a slot for a padlock. The motor deploys and retracts very easy. The wireless remote control provided has a lot features. The unit also comes with the direction sensor which is great. I shopped many sources and Amazon has the best price on the Terrova GPS.

You will not regret this purchase.
My wife and I made the leap and purchased the 12v 55lb Terrova about two months ago and--like the other reviews we've read--we wish we had purchased it sooner. We live on a circuitous pond that has required one of us to be responsible for steering the craft at all times with our previous 40lb thrust motor. Now that we can set gps tracks up to 2 miles in length, we push a button and the motor takes us on the course. We can now enjoy our company, read, put our feet up, and FISH! If they're biting particularly well in a specific place or we catch one, we just hit the spot lock button and it holds us in one place. Total miracle. I also love that you can set your iTrack function to end with a stop lock or for the motor to just shut off, etc. Well thought out feature. I will say, the first Terrova motor head that arrived with our order was not functioning correctly, but I got on the phone with Minn Kota and they immediately sent us a replacement head and all is well. Fantastic customer service, and they were great about trouble shooting via phone as well. I also love that we can operate the motor by remote and/or phone via One Boat app. Technology is incredible. This is an expensive upgrade, but I can't say enough good things about it, and it's completely changed the way we fish and enjoy cruising along our pond. We are happy we made the investment, and hope this motor continues to perform for years to come. BTW, if you register the product, you get an additional warranty year. If you're thinking about taking the leap, you will not be sorry!

Minn Kota Terrova
Did not like the fact that it does not have a built in transducer as most of this model does. Also does not have a foot pedal as was shown in the picture.

Used it almost every weekend!
I love this product! It was worth every penny! It didn’t take long to install. Once the product was put together it only took about 30 mins to install. The motor works great to steer the boat. Especially to get to the best fishing spots. The motor has enough power to drive our pontoon boat. Its locks on the boat nice and secure. We can pull it up when not in use.

Minn Kota 1358350 Terrova 55 lb. Thrust, 54" Shaft, Wireless Remote
OMG I'M LOVING MY TROLLING MOTOR, I love the spot lock the MOST, the lake I go on most of the time is windy and the spot lock holds my 20ft boat in place and I'm also able to get into area's I can't with my I/O motor. The motor is very quiet, and you can hardly hear it when it's on. It's very easy to use and the remote is easy to see and user, I mainly got it for the remote due to Between myself and my dad with bad knees and we both had a hard time using the paddle, Now the remote is a game changer bigtime.

System voltage
In the description for this product states it is a 24v system but it is a 12v system. I figured that was the case (I was looking for 12v). Just trying to save someone a headache. Everything appears good, I have not mounted it yet. I will update the rating when I get to use it.Update: When I mounted and turned on it had a really bent prop shaft which Minnkota fixed without question. Since then this motor has been an absolute game changer when it comes to fishing. I was in 3mph current the other day and it held me without wavering at all, I have used drift mode a few times without issue. Cannot wait to use auto track while trolling this summer!

Quality Control issues.
My first Minn Kota that had issues right out of the box. I installed the unit as instructed on the manual. Everything worked on the unit except the motor not turning the prop. I check connections from the battery to the head unit with a volt meter getting voltage. I had to tear apart the lower unit and take the armature out and look at the brushes. I found a cardboard O right in front of the armature blocking the brushes. I also decided to take the brush plate off to find out the ground connections wasn't even plugged into the ground brush. After these repairs the motor now works. Minn Kota you really need to test these motors before leaving the factory.
