Our Little Secret

Hmmmm, I usually love Claudia Carroll’s books, but this one I’m afraid wasn’t her best. It took me ages to get into it (hence the long time to read it compared to the pace I had been reading lately!)The typos throughout were just frustrating and to be honest an author of her calibre shouldn’t have such errors as surely she should have proper proofreaders and copyeditors before the book goes to print!?!Fortunately, the story did pick up a little as it went on and I did want to find out what Lauren’s Machiavellian plan was, but even the punchline to this felt a little lacklustre. The same with the court case for the bride suing the hotel for her ruined wedding. The best Carroll could come up with was that she had the bill posted under her door at 5 a.m after a few general wedding day hiccups??The story just seemed lazy compared to her usual funny writing I was very disappointed! I think the best thing about it was that the book didn’t just end. Usually, you are invested in the characters, and then the ending seemed rushed. This doesn’t happen here as the ‘witch’ is defeated, and then there are a few more chapters still following the main characters, so you feel you are getting to know what happens afterwards.

A fantastic story line, and a warning to people to not be taken in so easily and not be so trusting. The story of Sarah a lawyer, her daughter Darcy, her ex-husband Tom, her friends Liz and Harry and the most dark character of all Lauren!A very good read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, a nice ReadEnjoyed very much. Have read Books by this Author before and will definitely again.A book you were eager to pick up.

A great story from start to finish on how you can be taken in by people what you see is not always the true picture

Loved this book and couldn’t put it down. I never would have thought that Lauren would do what she did but just goes to show how the unexpected happens. Claudia is a fantastic author and knows how to reel the reader into the story. Well done you.

Catchy storyline and enjoyable read. Ending was too long but a good read despite this.

I really enjoyed this book and all the characters some you like some you don't! I hadn't read this author before but I will look for other books by her.
