I did not like the ending
I did not like the ending. It was too hurried. Too short of an explanation of his marriage and his daughter. These words show how short it was. No spoiler alert on who his wife was. The author didn't show their courtship at all. I did like the funny line he said. Which was that the super super rich Cole should not have married a "nobody " (while he did in fact marry an important person) only thing I liked about the ending. Please write more about Cole and his new family. Plus more about the enemy of the ship Haven II Thanks, Robert and give details not short explanations

Excellent.
The whole series was very readable. Even when giving “historical” details or background information I never lost interest or had a tendency to skip ahead. Plenty of action mixed in with relationships among the characters.Well done.

Disappointed
The author states that writing this book was hard and no fun. Well it showed. If you've lost faith in your own book then how do you expect your readers to like it. I loved the first three books in the series this one not so much. It could have been great but the book just sort of stopped. The relationships collapsed and the ending was pitiful. The sad part is I feel this series had more potential to have even more books. Author pull up your socks do a rewrite and move forward. If you don't readers won't trust your next work. I sure won't!

Done. Money grab.
I didnt have any idea who Robert M. Kerns was until I found this series. But after reading the first 3 in the Cole & Srexx series I immediately went and looked for other books by Kerns and found Drakmoor and The Primogenitor. All three series were good. But Cole's story was the one I was hooked on and couldn't wait for more of. And I saw that the fourth as coming soon. So I waited. And then it got pushed back. Which I could understand. Push it back if its not right. Push it back if the story isnt going how you want and you need a bit to collect it. We can wait. And then suddenly "The Fires of Aurelius" came up for pre order again. So I wait... and wait... and wait. And what releases is only 100 pages? Huh? How could the 4th book in the series just be 100 pages? It must be a release with a giant cliff for some huge war or a side story or something.... So I sit down and start reading. And the story starts off where we left off and introduces some new characters and a new race of scary people to fight and shows how Cole might spend his time policing the new Protectorate he has setup. Fun fun. But somehow Sasha and him are fighting? Over a misunderstanding where they both behave like toddlers instead of talking it out? Not at all like either of them. And the big fight scene leads to a time skip that ends with Cole married and the series ended?! WITH A 100 PAGE PIECE OF TRASH??!? I am done with this author. After this how can we expect him to end any other series with the ending they need? I would have rather waited YEARS for the final one than have this happen. And charged 4$ for it? Are you joking?! I wont buy anything else by this author ever again.

Great finish
4th book in the series and read in half a day. A bit disappointed that the last book only had 128 pages. Seems like the Author hurried to be done. However, even though it came to a quick end it had closure for the story.

Solid Work
I’ve read all four books in the Cole & Srexx complete series; plus the related short story. I throughly enjoyed the series, and would recommend it to anyone. I thought the characters were well crafted and the plot was entertaining. As is my preference, I would have liked to have had richer scene settings. Now for the gaps I saw. Apparently no one had sex in this entire saga. I find it unbelievable that during the span of years, that there were no relationships; nor any intimacy. I can see an author attempt to write for all age groups; but it just doesn’t come off as realistic. Lastly, it was like the author tired of the series, and rushed the ending. In a few chapters, we were taken from a battle with the introduction of a new species to jumping 5 years and ending the storyline. I felt cheated out of a smooth ending to one that was sliced and diced. Because of these gaps, I’m not inclined to pursue any other of the stories this author has to offer.

Really good series
This was a really good series, but I agree with other reviewers that it would have been nice if the end had a bit more detail instead of the high level long term overview. After such a fun and detailed series, that style ending, was somewhat of a let down. However, the rest of the series and this book up to the ending was great, so I still definitely recommend it.

Short and sweet
Good pace, lots of characters, interesting plot and sub plots. No cliff hanger and interesting enough to want to read more.

Netter Abschluss
Ich weiß nicht was alle haben, ist ein Netter Abschluss für die Serie.

It should have been titled: "How to destroy a very good series and make all my fanbase hates me"
I understand the "need" to give closure to a series if you don't feel it anymore, but there was no reason to ad new characters and plot twist, just write a FREE short story and be done with it.On a personal note i would have preferred to not have a "final book" than have to read something like this.

Presumably submitted because of contractual obligations
It isn't terrible, but by the author's own admission, he couldn't get into writing for this universe any more. The abrupt conclusion and lack of je ne sais quoi from the earlier volumes means you can probably forego this one.

Sad end to an enjoyable series
Read the author’s notes at the end, they make this volume understandable. Not a good finish to an enjoyable space-faring tale, as it was obviously a struggle for Robert Kerns to round off something that no longer grabbed his imagination.Cole and Srexx setting off to travel the galaxy might have felt better as a “sunset” ending but thanks for the ride, Mister Kerns.
