Easy to use produce with good simple instructions

These are much easier to use than peeling a strip off a roll of double-faced tape. They're also much more expensive. The peel-off backing is split lengthwise. As you smooth the tape onto the shaft, the backing pulls away from the tape and is easily removed. With a roll of old-fashioned tape, the backing is solid and you have to catch a corner with a fingernail or find it with a knife in order to be able to peel it off. I've done a thousand grips in my 70 years of golfing and got tired of trying to catch an edge of old-fashioned tape in order to peel off the backing. The final plus is that the tape is very thin and has an enormous amount of adhesive. These tapes are solvent-based. The best solvent is 3M Adhesive Remover. It's easy to work with a dries very fast. However, it is expensive. Paint thinner dries slower and is cheap. If you're installing one of the large diameter, straight-walled putter grips, thinner works best as it allows a long time to get the grip positioned. I use my own mix of 1 part thinner and 4 parts Xylene, which seems to provide the best of both.
