Wood shavings (kyougi) are sliced sheets of silky smooth wood (0.15-mm to 0.25 mm thin). They have been used by butchers and food dealers as food packaging from ancient times in Japan. They are made by the work of highly skilled craftsmen who have mastered & continue this tradition which dates back to the Edo period.Each note pad is custom crafted by hand, resulting in unique production outcome for each pad.
