HORRIBLE! NOT Refillable
I would not pay $5 for this book! It is flimsy, cheaply made and dirty. Doesn't even smell like leather. The ONLY reason I bought it is because the first word in the description is "REFILLABLE" which it is not! Do not purchase this for a gift - you would be embarrassed to give it to anyone.

Get what you pay for
Paper ok but I would think twice before giving as a gift. The actual product looks nothing like the image and is distorted and misshapen. There is no stitching on the edge, the tie is brittle and it does not look nice as the picture the seller has posted. These are on Amazon ranging in price $18-$27 and higher depending on seller, problem is you very well could be paying more for the same shotty work.On the plus side, the back of this actually looks pretty good, so for me the back of the book is now the front.

Great craftsmanship!
I loved this journal!!Well done with the binding of the pages. Looks very rustic and respectfully "old", if you know what I mean.I love the look of it. Its beautifully handcrafted. The pages and binding are sturdy.I am using this as my BOS.The paper holds up well to ink, paints and other items I have used to write/draw with on the pages.This would be an awesome gift for others.I purchased the tree of life one amd I coulsnt be happier with the image of the tree.I love the craftsmanship!

Incorrectly Described
This was purchased as a notebook for my mother. It was specifically chosen because it says it is refillable. it is book bound paper in the cover, and CLEARLY not refillable. the product seems good for what it is but not what was described so.... one star for the general... 4 stars for what it is despite the incorrect label.

Very good notebook but it stinks strongly of paint Definitely let the smell air out before using it

The lie that it is refillable. It clearly is not. No one likes being lied to.
The lie that it's refillable is a major disappointment. My husband just died, an this journal was dedicated to him post mortum so I could write memories of him. I'll have to find something else.

Artist’s Quality Not Universal
The leather and image on this “scrapbook” is beautiful. Unfortunately, there were drawbacks to my ordering more based on quality. A better description of what seems like inferior paper quality, and a less cumbersome way of closure (long wrap-around leather strings) were drawbacks for me. The price was fine.

Really nice journal, I would have given it five stars but I had a really bad burnt rubber smell when it arrived.
