I had a cast iron smoker grill that I was so tired of rusting out. It took a while to assemble this grill but was very straight forward. It's a big grill, you need help to set it upright. Takes about 1 hour to assemble. The parts are well laid out. The instructions are good. You have to get the instructions from online. I had a little trouble with the large side but that was because the fan was blocked. The unit will not work with the fans blocked. It holds temperature very accurately with the lid closed. It really allows you to cook with wood and none of the hassles. I never had a pellet grill before; this is well worth the cost. See how I am in ten years. I love this thing!

This grill is amazing. I’ve owned a Weber genesis gas grill that last thirteen years and a Traeger pro 780 for three years before my wife sold the Traeger on marketplace and I purchased and assembled this beast of a grill/smoker.Customer service is amazing. Live agents in Georgia that are super helpful, will email you back within a business day and call back promptly if you leave a voicemail.Would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to up their grilling and smoking experience.

My husband loves this smoker. I bought him the cherry pellets. It is so much easier than gas and all meats are delicious. He loves the temperature control and the push button start.

We waited and fussed overspending the money on this grill/smoker. But, once we made the decision to purchase, we realized it was totally worth it. The new grill/smoker has been just amazing. It was a challenge to put together because of its weight but with my wife's help, we managed. The probes are a great feature. We have loved everything that has been cooked on this grill/smoker. Worth the money.

When pellet smokers first came out i was very apprehensive because of mixed reviews so i waited until someone got it right. I mostly cook TEXAS brisket, ribs and homemade sausage, always absolutely PERFECT!

We had a big green egg before this and it was so much work! This grill heats up quick. Smoke on one side, grill on the other. No need to clean out ash every time. All controlled on your phone and so easy!

The good: Great grill. Just replaced a Pit Boss Pro combo grill. Big difference in price but the difference in quality and more importantly Performance is unbelievable. The level of smoke from this unit is 5x that of the Pit Boss. The smoker both direct or indirect heats up incredibly fast. Easy cleanup due to the support of high temperature . Finish your cook, then send it to 600 degrees for 15 minutes, brush off the ash, done. Also comes with a 6 year warranty. The wifi app is both good and bad. The good. Once you get it working, it runs great. Allows for alarms on probes temp, temp adjustment and cooking history. The app also runs the direct and indirect independently of each other, which was a great surprise.The Bad: Reading about the Wifi application I was expecting something really impressive. In all honesty the Pit Boss app is slightly better and easier to set up. The big issues with the app is due to a few short comings. 1) The rec teq does not come with set up directions. They have a Qr code which shows a build video but nothing on the app. In my case the app installed on my mobile and linked to the Grill. 20 steps away and it looses connection. No real help online for this issue. 2) the grill will connect to the wifi that the phone is connected to. If you only have one SSID this will not be an issue. In my case I have a separate SSID for the backyard and Dock which has a much stronger signal. I needed to delete the connection and basically start over after switching to the stronger Wifi. This still did not correct the distant issue. I then notice the smoker had a older firmware on it. After spending an hour I was unable to get the update to come off of 0. With no wifi options I had to delete everything again multiple times. As I go through the setup for the 5th time I stayed within Bluetooth distance. Connect the grill to the wifi and immediate hit upgrade. Bam, 2 minutes later the grill is updated and all issues resolved themselves. I found several post on line related to this issue and Rec Teq recommends you call them for support. That's great if they are open. Not so good if it's afterhours. This issue should be posted and more importantly a short video should be made walking though the first registration when a upgrade is required. Would of saved a lot of time and frustration.Summary: Killer grill. Extremely accurate temperatures , well made. Wifi app needs some enhancements. Over the last few weeks I've cooked some ribeye, burgers, ribs and pulled pork. Honestly they have been the best smoked meet I've ever cooked. My Wife and neighbors had nothing but high compliments.

I’m very happy with my grill/smoker! I have been using it for close to a year now and have no complaints!
