Peter Blake stars as a maverick police officer
This was a strange quirky series from 1970s.it starred peter Blake tommy Ewell and a parakeet. I really enjoyed seeing it again

Nice seeing Baretta again, remembered it from my youth. Liked watching it but the storylines are sometimes a bit disappointing

I never expected to ever see this show again
I used to watch this cop show with my father when I was a kid.It was great to finally get the chance to see the show again. Of course the show is very dated, clearly shot in the early seventies, and even more than a bit stereotypical of the various characters.Robert Blake is outstanding in this role. His parrot is good too ;-).Not much more to say. If you've never watched this show, it will be too dated to be enjoyable (unless you really hanker after 70's America).

Baretta - Robert Blake as an unorthodox cop of 70s
Anyone who grew up in 70s watching TV shows can not forget the amount of entertainment and enjoyment, week after week, the TV shows brought them and their families right in their living room. Several dramas of 70s are worth mentioning; Baretta, Starsky and Hutch, Rockford files, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, and SWAT. Baretta is a one cop show; Starsky and Hutch is a two cop team show and SWAT - five man team show. The release of this new CD comes at a time when Robert Blake was accused of wife Bonnie Lee Blakely's murder. It is hard to talk about this CD without talking about Blake. For example, lines such as "Husbands have been known to sometimes kill their wives for money" make a sad reference to drama of his life. The truth of the matter is Blake is found not guilty in a court of law, but that does not sound right in the real world. The studio is not marketing the second season due to the marketability of the product. There are three-disc set containing all 12 episodes of the series' first season. All episodes are worth watching and thoroughly enjoyable; in one episode named Mansion, his first wife of real life appears as an eccentric character of the show. I think second season episodes are little more enjoyable as the show's story and writing gets better. The price of new CD is a little steep and I would recommend if you are a real fan of Baretta and not put off by Robert Blake's real life drama.

ROBERT BLAKE AT HIS BEST
Sad to hear of such low times for Mr Blake recently, but this show was a 70's hit detective show of quality often shown late at night when first broadcast.I think the show lasted 3 seasons, this is season one including the pilot episode.I highly recommend this as well as Columbo,Starsky and Hutch, Kojak,Rockford Files and McCloud.By the way the bird is dead...
