My second set of Scanpan pots/pans
I despise traditional nonstick surfaces. I discovered scanpan many years ago and I will never look back. First of all, its a solid piece of craftsmanship. I can't explain how they work, but I can verify they work. nothing sticks. Here's what I'll say about my first set of pans. They lasted a long time for non stick. (9 years). But, it would have lasted longer if I were a little more vigilant in not using metal utensils. Also, I destroyed one skillet by accidentally leaving the burner on high with nothing in the pan for an hour. I believe it destroyed the surface, it was never very non-stick after that. I only use wood utensils to cook with now, even though scanpan says you can use metal utensils without damaging the surface. I'm not so sure that is accurate. The best part is these pans will put a sear on a steak as if it were a cast iron skillet. The textured surface of the pans is the key. And the coating doesn't flake off. Buy with confidence.
