Roomy and stretchy and I don't need to wear a belt. My only concern is how much shrinkage after a few washings but they feel and look great.

The shorts are nice but not they were short. They were above the knee for a tall person. Size was 36, gave them to a family member that is 5’5.I ordered them cause they expanded at the waist.

I am usually not a fan of elastic waistbands, but these are only a couple of inches on either side and aren't conspicuous in the look. They fit really well, and with the elastic I won't need to wear a belt unless I want to dress them up. Length is good, I am not a fan of really long shorts and these are long but tolerable with a 9.5" inseam. The fabric is a blend and is surprisingly lightweight. I like cotton shorts that have some weight to them, but these will be really nice on hot days and in the tropics where I like to take vacations.

Hubby LOVES these shorts. Great 95%, cotton fabric that is cool in steamy Texas summers. The fit is a bit large. My husband has a size 32 waist. On him, the waist is about an inch too wide. But, they still fit well even without a belt. The length is as shown...he's 5' 8" tall. They launder beautifully and come out of the dryer wrinkle-free on permanent press. Lots of roomy pockets. The stitching is excellent. He has four pair in different colors, which are exactly as pictured.
