The Majestic

Critics panned this movie but though I'm not a Jim Carrey fan, he and the rest of the cast were magnificent and the music was a great emotional foundation for the movie.

The boogie woogie piano charts and inspired my young son to write his own attempt at boogie woogie (and it’s not half bad!). The recordings are excellent, the bands swing hard, and the “Orange Colored Sky” will knock your socks off! The score tracks are solid too but I bought for the big band and old time jazz tracks.

To hear the roar of the crowd as the player goes in to slam dunk the basketball in the professional sports arenas,this film equals those thrills for the audience as Jim Carrey (Luke Trimble)takes us through the mind of someone that has amnesia and unwittingly becomes the hometown war hero set in 1945 period. Stars abound in this film like character actors Martin Landau and James Wittemore.Boy meets girl,they fall in love,then a twist in the plot as Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) is accused of being a communist,similar to the Army McCarthy hearings for those old enough to remember.It all turns out like everyone wants.....Ed Lynch 10/29/06

This move has long been a favorite of mine, so much so that it has made my 'keeper' list. I am a novice pianist at best. But the music from this movie inspired me to the point that I've been studying Roadhouse Boogie style music. What a blast!

The kind of music you can listen to all the time - fits in with rock, blues, even pop. You'll love the mix, whether you are a kid, a dad, or an old pop.

I remember when I saw the movie, I was tapping my foot during the movie. Listening to the soundtrack, a little more than a decade later, and I find that this music still has that certain something that makes you smile and put you in a gentle groove. I recommend this to anyone who just sometimes wants to slip into a different decade.

The movie has a lot of great old songs that I remember my parents enjoying. But the CD doesn't capture them. And I don't like the ones that are on it. I bought is specifically for Nat King Cole's "I Remember You." Buy the movie DVD instead and enjoy the songs on it.

The music mix on this wonderful CD is providing me with great entertainment as I drive around town. The big band music is upbeat and the slower pieces, with full orchestra, are wonderful and calming. And who doesn't like Nat King Cole? Excellent musical choices for the sound track for The Majestic.

Great to find this for a friend. Arrived quickly. Would order again.
