This stuff is literally like magic. I spray it all over my flower beds, garden and fruit trees which keeps my chickens that free range, deer and rabbits from messing with them.

Works great, but don't believe the claims about once a month!
This is the only deer repellent that we've found works for protecting our flowers now that the deer have arrived en masse in our area. It smells pretty foul when mixed and sprayed, but the smell dissipates within an hour (close the windows before spraying!). The container claims it can work up to a month between spraying, but we just barely make it through a week (less if there's a heavy rain). It ends up being expensive over the course of the growing season, but I love my flowers, and it's a lot less expense than building a 6-foot fence around the entire yard and rigging up a gate to get into the driveway!

Deters deer
Deer don't like it, but boy, it smells, so don't get in on your or your clothes.

Works, but wear a raincoat when spraying!
I've got a lot of deer, made worse by people in my development thinking they're cute and feeding them. I think they're big rats on long legs and serve zero benefit to our local environment since they have no natural predators and just keep reproducing. They also eat everything I plant for the birds and pollinators. I tried spaying with cayenne pepper & water, but it kept jamming the sprayer. Tried this, and it really works, taking into account that you have to re-spray every time it rains and after dew. It stinks to high heaven! Any time the wind shifted my clothes got some of it, so have taken to wearing a cheap travel raincoat (the kind that comes packaged for small spaces) to wear over my clothes, and that's worked well. The concentrate is well worth the money, I got regular container first then this. Recommend.

Really works
This was recommended to me by a friend who lives in a very deer-prone area. She was spot on. I live close to some mountains and wildlife areas; my house is the only one with a lot of flowers (roses, day lilies, etc.), so the deer seem to feel I planted those just for them and will snack on the buds, leaving NONE to flower if I don't use this spray. It stinks (I have a very dull sense of smell, but even I can smell it) the first few hours, but once it dries, doesn't have an odor to most humans, but evidently to the deer and other pesky critters, it does. I use it on my growing veggies, berries, trees...anything I want the deer to leave alone.

It works well for deer, secret is in application timing.
I have used this deer deterrent for years, yes it does repell dear. We live on a rural property with plenty of deer in the area. At first I was more than disappointed, but then a conversation with a commercial hosta grower revealed the secret. His hostas grow in a wooded grove, without fencing. He explained that early in spring you must thoroughly spray the entire perimeter of the area/property you wish to protect, also identify access points deer use and spray up the trail a few feet. You can then directly spray your most vulnerable plants, but also spray an 8-10 ft swath around flower beds and vulnerable trees and bushes. Deer are animals of habit and feeding routes; frequent spring perimeter spraying imprints on them that your yard is offensive and potentially harmful. They then change their routine route to avoid it. By summer I only occasionally spray after heavy rains.

Good and Bad
Overall this product works fairly well. I have used it for 10 years to repel deer and rabbits from my hostas and impatiens. And there is practically no effective products of this type available, so there is that. However the concentrate does not mix well and many times it has clogged my pump sprayer (cleaning the sprayer with that awful smell is not a pleasant task). Further, last year when we had a draught it did not work at all since the animals ignored the taste in order to get the needed moisture that the plants provided. Lastly, it is overpriced for what it is.

Easy to mix and works.
I’m a huge fan of liquid fence. I bought a one gallon sprayer to go with it. It is easy to pour and mix with the water. When applied correctly, per the instructions, it lasts a long time. You really have to apply liberally, then do the same the following week then every other month. We have deer that destroy hostas and other plants like crazy but they stay out of my yard when this is applied, even just to some plants. It definitely smells when wet but when dried, you don’t smell it at all.
