I really like this vacuum but I sent it back. I THINK what I want to do re purchase the same vacuum in the "Pet" version let me tell you what I thought:- Its freaking heavy for one of these - Easy enough to empty- It straight up does not have enough parts BUT.. the pet version has more parts. Thats why I think I might want to rebuy it in the Pet version- It has the greatest thing I have ever seen rotating side brushes... so what? Uhh yeah You can clean the freakin baseboards with it (WOW) Bottoms of cabinets. Do you have a Rooma? It never does the corners or gets against the wall.. This thing does.. Concern.. Ok so will those brushes wear out quickly and the best feature of the vaucum suddenly is not there?So my pets have pets I have an assortment of birds and a dog. This did well picking up bird seed and things a cockatiel and parakeets might throw out of the cage. It had a harder time with the cockatoo mess. You still need to pick up the tooth picks they create and the bits of boxes. It wasn't a complete game changer but I really wonder what those missing parts would have done for me.It cleaned the actual dust off the floor much better than other cordless stick vacs. My right arm might get bigger then my left though it was heavy. Issue was that it could pick up the crap off the floor but for dismantling and using as a "dust buster" type thing the unit is super long and its heavy. So not so great. I want to be able to do a quick change over and vacuum the seeds off my bird stands which are higher than waits height. This results in having to hold my elbow up over my head holding this kind of heavy thing...So if you had no birds and you really wanted to just clean your floor this thing is awesome. If you want modified dust buster capabilities.. Yeah sadly not quite.. I can only have so many vacuums so I returned it. I am really hoping for a seriously good black Friday deal on the Pet version other attachments might create new uses. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SIDE BRUSHES Genuis!!!! OMG.. I so wanted to keep this.... Maybe with the more parts?

The headlight is really helpful in seeing what I'm doing. The vacuum is well made. It doesn't seem all that sturdy standing up on its own. It charges easily. There are lots of attachments with the pet version of this vacuum. I think the instructions could be better. This is heavier than any cordless I've tried before. As such, it picks up more, as it's more powerful overall. I can't say it picks up everything though, on occasion it really sucks up dust, other times it just seems to blow stuff around. Of course, it being more powerful is a plus. But as a backup, I won't be inclined to use it as much since it is kind of heavy for me.

Cordless stick vacuums seem to be where everything is going, and after switching over to one upstairs, we decided that having a dedicated one for downstairs was the best option for us. While my previous experience with vacuums has been from other big-name brands, this Summit Series stick vac from B&D seemed like it would serve us well and I decided to give it a try. I'm very happy with the results overall.The battery life is quite good, and recharging is straightforward with the magnetic charger head. The motorized beater bar does very well at removing debris from both carpets and hard surface floors, without getting clogged up by hair. Servicing the brush roll was straightforward, with no difficulties in removing any stray hair that did get wrapped around it. The edge side brush that's mounted out on the end of the axle did a great job at churning up dust and stuff from baseboard and furniture edges, but after several uses it got tangled in some hair and seems to have worked itself loose due to cracking from the center. I haven't yet tried to find a replacement for it, but if I am able to, I'll end up getting several spares in case it happens again. I don't know why spares weren't included in the box, as these do seem to be consumable parts. That detail aside, everything else about the stick vacuum was a real pleasure to use.Emptying the dust collection tank was easy, and the washable filter & exhaust filter pair does a great job at keeping the exhaust air from pushing out any dust or smells. The included wall mount made it easy to keep it up and out of the way when I'm not using it, and I'm glad the manufacturer included it with the vacuum.My only reservation is that the total suction power isn't quite on part with traditional corded vacuums, but to be fair to this unit, I have yet to find any cordless vacuum that can match the performance of a corded one, no matter the manufacturer or the marketing claims. The trick for me seems to be vacuuming slightly more frequently, so that the vacuum isn't having to do quite as much deep work each time. Once I made that adjustment to my cleaning routine, everything has been great ever sense! I think I would recommend this cordless stick vacuum from Black & Decker. For what it can do, it's well ahead of value curve that some of the big vacuum brands have established.

I like how easy to use this vacuum cleaner is. It cleans the floors well and has a good battery life. It is also easy to hold and maneuver as it is rather lightweight.
