mutiny in space
second in a trilogy of books [dauntless, fearless, courageous] about the exploits of the lost fleet. in a space war between the good alliance and the nasty syndic, a fleet belonging to the former is lost behind enemy lines. their only chance of getting home? captain john 'black jack' geary, a man rescued from suspended animation a century after the first battle of the war. he's become a legend in the meantime. can he live up to it? deal with mutinous subordinates? scheming politicans? and get the fleet home?this is not really a trilogy to come in on the middle of so start with volume one first. the writing in both of them is much the same. It's not great literature, but it's a little better than average and not as bad as it could be, and it does try to give depth to it's characters and explore strong themes of duty and what people become during wartime. All these books are a little under three hundred pages so they're short and easy reading. the space combat tries to be realistic and within the laws of physics. And when reading this, you know what I kept feeling? the desire to know what would happen next. so the writer has done their job. entertaining pulp science fiction

Nail biting
The enormous task of seeing the fleet back safely to Alliance space has never seemed so overwhelming. Faced with enemies on all sides, contentious captains seeking to undermine his orders and syndic forces determined to throw everything at the fleet or die fighting. The odds stacked against Captain Geary achieving his objective are staggering but if anyone can do it then Black Jack Geary’s that man.

The Lost Fleet: Fearless
I think the term is "a good read"Slightly repetitive & for my taste overly detailed "action" sequences which hold up & slow the story linesHowever, I do like (& keep buying) his books, my only real complaint being I might well be dead from old age before they reachany real defining endingsI read a review elsewhere of the latest book in the series that thought he might be running out of ideas & quite a few of his books sometimes give that impression, but he is a good writer & as I stated at the start of this review very readable

Plenty of space battles.
Had the series in paperback, felt the need to add the collection to my kindle . Good series, plenty of space battles and keeps the suspense flowing.

Good read!!
Again I read this quite a while back. It definitely picks up from the first book and contains a bit more action and character developments. I found the book real easy to get through and really enjoyed the focused story arc.As with all the books in this series, it is entirely focused on the main story arc and does not waiver and wonder with multiple events. I found it really easy to follow and get through.Very good series for anyone who is just starting out wants to get into sci-fi and reading novels in general.

Another good read
A fab sequel to a gripping story. Can't wait to read what happens next to the Lost Fleet and Cpt. Geary.

Great addition to the Lost Fleet series
Can't believe that it has taken me so long to write this review, as it took me only a couple of days to read Fearless! If you've read book 1 - Dauntless - then you'll know what to expect: exciting space battles, an expansive conflict between two human species, and the hint of an alien race...Fearless follows in the same vein as Dauntless, continuing Black Jack Geary's crusade across the Syndicate Worlds towards the Alliance. Black Jack might be the voice of reason, but this time he faces dissent from within the fleet - specifically, a challenger to his leadership. Jack Campbell handles this well, and I ended up feeling some sympathy towards the usurper. There are also more hints of possible alien intelligence - but no direct evidence just yet! - so I'm definitely planning on reading on for more on this.

fearless
A riveting story following the fleet escaping, but still fighting, action and tales of valour showing some men and women in a good light, but also some with the wrong attitudes, a series not to be missed, well written, now onto the next book. Thank you Jack Campbell.
